ORIGINAL: Aswad When reading the AquaticSub-vs-Bobgkin exchange, my communication meter started falling toward zero, while my content meter dropped slightly slower. I think the difference would disappear in a vacuum, but that experiment has already been done ages ago, and resulted in some cool scientific advances, if memory serves... Now, it may be the two of you don't want to communicate, which would be consistent with my measurements. But in the interest of WIITWIDific method, it might be interesting to see the director's cut, no? I will do my best to synopsize my position, and will leave it to Aquatic to repeat/expand her position (if she so chooses). "Molding" in the widest context, is about shaping the behaviour/personality of the sub/slave. On its own it has no moral value: it can be beneficial or malicious. While it can be done without cooperation (keyword "brainwashing" for a google search) I've limited myself to discussing "molding" within a consensual bdsm relationship where the sub/slave has agreed to the modifications (specifically or in general principle). Within such a context it is my position that molding only occurs when all involved cooperate with the process. As I said, "molding" has a neutral moral value. It goes by many labels, most of which do have a moral value: growth, learning, stretching limits, attitude adjustment, behaviour modification, personality modification are all labels synonymous with "molding". I believe that is about as far as I got in my discussion with Aquatic on this sub-topic. quote:
