Kinky sex has been around a long time.  It's the idea of suggesting the exact same language/terms/dynamics have been in place for every single generation which I find highly improbable.

They're pretty "soft" D/s though... mostly into inducing feelings of guilt and humiliation in others over their otherwise innocent desires. Although, for a rather long period of history, they did a "self-inquiry" over their own convictions. Then things got pretty edgy for their subs. (no safewords) During this period, they did invent some really great toys, many of which are still enjoyed today. After a while, like so many other BDSM groups, some of their members got fed up with the BS, nailed a note to the door, and went off to start their own group.

To the OP, this reminds me of all the fluffy bunny Wiccans saying "Our tradition has been around since the Ancient Celtic days!"  Like BDSM, it wasn't organized/tracked until recent times and such statements are highly unprobable, but good for a laugh

Mom and Dad are such prudes, they hated my now exhusband becasue they thought i lost my virginity to him before we got married.  Ive known a few 2nd generation BDSMers, but none that cold trace back farther than that. Or really, who wanted to. I mean come on now, who really wants to picture Grandma in  leather thong with a whip?

His story never really added up all that well for me, especially the move right away and leave everything behind part. {sigh} And people wonder why women on sites like this become cynical.

Only thing I can say is ditto to this. I have spoken to a few men that have contacted me on this site, claiming to have some sort of long lineage in BDSM going back for generations. Two of them that stick out in my mind, said they were "Old Guard". The question that i posed to myself, to wrap my mind around it was. If it is such a hush hush thing & very secretive... Then why the hell are they telling me about it in our initial conversations on line. If they choose to tell any random sub online about it you know it isn't much of a secret is it.

Can't speak for Tinman.  I have two female UMs, mentioned on here before.  My oldest clearly displays a dominant nature and has asked me about dominance from a non-sexual point of view.  Is it wrong of me to give her my thoughts on dominance?  Should I insist that she seek out guidance elsewhere and then, when she comes to me with something I think is claptrap still keep my mouth shut so that I am not discussing D/s with my own daughter?

Don't get me wrong...I have no desire to discuss what my daughter does or doesn't do in the bedroom but I see no problem in discussing her behavior outside of the bedroom and see no problem with the fact that part of the behavior discussed is her dominant tendencies...especially when her dominance veers to domineering rather than dominating.
