Dear Kalista07, Ladies and Gentlemen; You are lucky to have known the identity of the rapist so soon after the arrest. I'm afraid DC area is so scared that criminal's rights are stepped on and they play either the race or religion ploy that it is overly 'politically correct.' Only time victims found out the real identity was during trial. Case by case bases. I do realize a lot of the violent crimes are gang related so, the tit-for-tat killings are a concern. I think you are a sweet young lass to want to help someone. You have been woven with threads of experiences no lass or lad should go through. I can only assume, that your intention is--that if you can spare another lass agony and or regrets, you will do your dead level best in reaching out to those who you know might be heading into disaster and or making light of how serious things could be. There will be lads and lassies who will do any and all to gain attention upon themselves. Some create drama and some over achieve. Some do it for the wrong reasons. Some do it for the right reasons. Unfortunately, the only thing a person can control, is their own personal life and those who step into that personal circle and earn the right and respect to be there. I go for quality individuals over quantity myself but, I had to learn this lesson for myself. Parents and friends could preach and or plead all they wished however, I had to live the lesson to learn the lesson. [Smiles] Parents admit that also. LOL When we became of the age of our parents when we were kids--darn if we're not starting to sound like them. [Chuckles] Again dear little lady--It is admirable to be a good person, a compassionate one, a loyal friend and helpful to others. It is wonderful to be concerned about others. Please don't loose these rare virtues. Just some thoughts. Respectfully submitted for consideration, Lady Hugs
