You’ll find in life that every line has its silver cloud and sometimes the lines are drawn in grey so it isn’t easy to distinguish there exact location because errm the ground may also be grey. The width of said line is also crucial some lines are as thick as the people stepping on them therefore it’s hard to see if the line has been crossed or not. Is the line crossed when your foot goes over the start of the thickness of the line or the end of it? Is the line bendy so that someone in parallel to yourself may step over the line at the same time that you are still behind the line? All these points need looking into by minds much greater than ours I feel.

Speaking of crossing/stepping over the line.

I`d advise anyone from commenting about/on Mod 11, in a personal way(joking or not). There is a comment on another thread, putting "masturbating" and her name/title together.Very inappropriate and disrespectful. Not only of her position, but of her, personally.

I`m not talking about good humor or supportive comments, and all(I`m sure she has fun here, too).I`m talking about anything sexual,or privately personal. In other words, don`t say anything about/to her, that you wouldn`t also say to your own mom, dad,or boss.

My art teacher said I had talent but I merely suspected she wanted me to opt for Art instead of Science because she had so few people in her class. You’d also be surprised at what I’ve said to my boss.

They do not read all the posts, Mod 11 is only reactive to complaints, at least that is why she says she allows people to make personal insult after insult at me.  If your post got pulled or moderated it is because the person you spoke to is a whinny little bitch who complained.

It's amusing that the problem children actually believe that.

Certain people get watched more closely than others due to their behavior.  If you don't want to make that list, don't habitually step over the line.  If that's too much of a burden to bear, I'm sure you can find other places to spend your leisure time.

Hmm... I'm gone for a month or two and all hell breaks loose.  Honestly, it's really nothing new.  Such is the way of internet interaction.  It just seems that the new set is finding their footing and learning which rules to politely bend and which to follow to the letter.

ROFLMAO. It's just too funny how some posters in here take it upon themselves to to "advise" the rest of us on what we can and can't say. Did someone give out the hall monitor sashes? Leave that to the Mods and the TOS.

House rules stand.

Best point so far.

When we visit the home of another, most of us generally don't grab a beer, kick the dog out of the chair, sit down, throw our feet up on the table, light a cig and then wait for the owner of the place to come home so we can shout at them for having the wrong kind of beer in the fridge. At least not unless very well acquainted with them. But some find that analogous behaviour is quite acceptable in the forum of another, even to the point of the posting of things that might incur liability for the forum owner(s).

So far, there have only been a couple of cases where I've disagreed with the mods on a course of action they have taken, and the one or two warnings I can remember getting haven't been among those. That must be a personal record for me or something, and in a good way. So kudos to the mods for maintaining a balance that is to my liking at least, and one that it seems most others here are happy with as well.

Seeing that my profile had been perved by the Designated Annhilator soon after joining was not entirely reassuring at the time, though.

Health,
al-Aswad.

I've found that there is are three approaches that work in a consistent manner across  boards:
  • Trolling - universally generates problems if the place is worth hanging at.
  • Lurking - universally doesn't do very much, one way or the other.
  • Courtesy - almost universally appreciated for its rarity.
Anything else will depend on how well one meshes with those who are already there, etc.

Health,
al-Aswad.

It's not just okay, but necessary.

Without some measure of self-regulation, no amount of moderation will save a community.

Edit: Besides, the less moderation we require, the less harsh what moderation we get will be.
I'd comment on the obvious parallel to government, but it's beside the point.

Health,
al-Aswad.

Well I am on several boards, like to the tune of 7.   They all have their better/worse points and of course their quirks and this one is no different.   The thing I find fascinating is that each board has its own personality based on the members and in some cases the mods, yet in other cases the members/mods.

Out of the 7,  three are the most fun imo and this one is one of the 3  :)

Remember to take the plates out of the kitchen sink before you pee in it!
