Some free speech, certain free speech. And, the harder you lean to the Left, the less harder you're leaned on.

You're mistaken.  Crying towels can be found in the lobby, on the far right.

Low blows like that, and like calling us children is hardly fair because you know that we can't hit back.

I know I know I know, wah wah wah.

But it would be nice if you were to treat us with a little more respect than that.

I frequent up to 7 boards at any given time dependant on content.

The very bestest of the best boards is run like this:

At the bottom of every post they have a <delete> button that stays lit for 12 hours.

Other posters if they have trouble are offended or otherwise are having a bad hair day got their dick caught in their zipper, (whatever), can click on the delete post button and up pops a menu box and it gives choices for posted in wrong thread, off topic, violates tos etc.   You can also contact the administrator directly if it is spam or something grossly illegal but otherwise you are expected to use the system provided.

This is all done dynamically on a 70% view ratio over the duration period the delete button is illuminated and calculated at the end of the duration and goes for a final administrator review prior to any action.

So if 70% of the viewers feel it should be deleted and the admin agrees then it is and an email is automatically forwarded to the poster that sorry your post has been "voted" (whatever) and moved deleted etc.

That particular board imvho has the very bestest of the best board moderation systems of all others combined and the joke is that it is a totally redneck closed minded site too!  LOL   er is it?

There are obvious advantages for both admins and subscribers in a system like that compared to the way other boards are managed imo.

No.
But if  I act childish,I have no one the blame but myself,if that happens.

I`m not afraid to say that I have my moments,and said things I wish I didn`t say or post.

If you want respect,act respectfully. Claiming that the Mod is biased is not a way to earn respect.You have zero clue,as most do(and should,btw),as to the moderators,their thoughts,bias or habits.Zero.

You don't know what I know, and I find it odd that you pretend that you do.

LOL, if snuff films were allowed here, Mod 11 would cast me as the central character, more than likely.

LOL, yeah, well, you're a special case though. And I saw one (a post) that you made the other day... I'm just saying, if I'd done anything like that... I guess I could say I wonder why she was so easy on you, but I don't. I don't wonder why.

Sanity is right!!! I have never been contacted by Mod11...Just one of the many perks of hanging to the left....I also get free ice cream at the Ben and Jerry's store.

4,204 posts, and you've never made anyone upset with you?

How the hell do you do that...

Sanity, you aren't the only one here who has been moderated between us or had them big flaming red letters awaiting you in the inbox.  How do you know she was easy on me? I have taken some pretty rotten hits out here myself.

But enough of this, some are going to think moderators are biased, and some are not, and some are thinking that they play favorites with certain posters and some not.

Life will go on and collarme will do its juke to the left or juke to the right, however the owners see it, with or without us here.

MissSCD -> RE: CM rules ? (9/25/2007 12:07:40 PM)

I am ignoring the original statement as everyone else has and go to some comments about Moderator 11.  I have Moderator 11 on ignore, LMAO, weg, and falls on the floor.
Let's face it.  We don't like the same things here.
I hate to see some of the liberal right taking over.  But that seems to be the trend of society.  The key is to keep at it until you meet some genuine people here on collarme.
I really get upset with Christianity being bashed.  The best thing to do is to refrain from some things.
All message boards have owners and moderators who have the power to remove.   They can do what they want when they wish.

Regards, MissSCD

i just wanderd in here and i have not had a problem with the rules here or any problems with anyone...

Phoenixandnika -> RE: CM rules ? (9/25/2007 12:30:28 PM)

I am going to make an analogy here perhaps it will make sense to others, perhaps it wont.

If I go to a restraunt and the service sucks once I may give it another chance.
If I go back and the service is still horrible in my eyes I wont give them another chance. I will simply take my time and money else where. I will not make a scene. I will not stomp my feet and scream that their wait staff was lazy, or that the hostess was biased because I got stuck in near the bathrooms while her friends got wonderful table. The differences between CollarMe and my analogy is this is a free site. The moderators are not paid, they are volunteers. If the service within this site is so bad in YOUR eyes, why not simply go some where more inviting to you?

Thats why the system i mentioned in post 61 above rocks.

No "0ne" person can kill a post.   (except the admin and they dont even bother reading anything unless they are flagged either through emergency style email or the system and no single person is able to control the flow of the conversations taking place.

It keeps everything nice and fair and above board and i have never even seen discussions like this thread there.  The site mood goes wherever the "best" arguments are made.

Its run like a republic btw.   they have the rules, (the constitution) and the users abide by the democratic republican structured rules.  LOL

I dont think anyone here is saying "ALL" that?

There are many board sites out there and they are all free, even pay sites have free boards and chat and mods, so I am not sure what your point is.

I never said the service here is BAD as you wrongfully put it.

I am merely sharing my experiences on other boards as well as this one since I frequent many and never even mentioned mod 11.   So dont take it so personally I am not carving on your favorite board here.

To me this is nothing different than discussing democracy vs socialism or any other system of management and if you want to read more into it than is there then its all on you.

All boards have good points and not so good and areas that can be done better etc etc etc

Besides they may be the only restaraunt in town who makes the steak just the way you want it.  LOL

Maybe you missed this:

It was the first line in my post.

FYI:
I have been on bords since 1995 before WWW. even existed, close to 10 years prior to the existance of cm.  Maybew thats 1993ish, it was when windows 95 had their first beta. whatever LOL

Phoenixandnika -> RE: CM rules ? (9/25/2007 1:05:58 PM)

Actually that is how "I" read some of the posts on this thread. Now perhaps that is now you or anyone else meant it but personal interpetation of written word is just that.

Now let me ask you this. You stated that they may be the only restraunt in town to make steaks just the way you want it, but if you insult the staff do you truly think you are going to get off without any reprocussions? ~laughs~

By the way, I don't take ANYTHING on these boardes personal, because in my eyes they are not personal. However, YOU seem mighty defensive in my eyes in regards to my analogy.

Termyn8or -> RE: CM rules ? (9/25/2007 1:08:32 PM)

OK, I see that Mod11 seems to be the most active.

While I have not found her to be biased politically, she is almost hypersensitive to certain issues. Her motives are her own, but her actions do express a pretty profound caring for this site.

She seems to me to be hypersensitive about the race issue, that may be absolutely representative of the whole staff. That may be the idea. What it seems like is that you actually can make a racist statement, but not a bigoted one. This is one of the ironies of life, the line between the two is both very fine, and blurred at the same time.

No, I have not found Mod11 to be all that biased. But everyone is biased. Some will call her extremely biased because their post got pulled because of name calling or something, or that the opinion simply wasn't expressed properly. Even though the poster didn't see it as inflammatory or insulting, if she sees that it could be interpreted as such, what would you have her do ?

Would you have her let it go on and let the site's image go to waste, to the point where some of the more desirable member leave, and others are discouraged from joining after reading our diatribe ? Would you rather they just let any abusive offensive asshole stick around here and wreck it for the rest of us ?

I have no idea how this site makes any money, perhaps iyt is a labor of love so to speak. But any website wants hits and members. Every last word we type is viewable by the general public.

Perhaps it is time for a "Members only fightroom" catergory. Somewhere people can flame each other and quote each other ad nauseum. Pick apart every last word of whatever. Just not available to the general public, that's all. It would be like making children leave the room if they are bickering too much.

Hmmmm.

well you misinterpreted what I said then hung your misinterpretation around my neck as you are doing again I have no reason to believe any further comments on my behalf will be read any differently from you so have a nice day..

mnottertail -> RE: CM rules ? (9/25/2007 1:11:46 PM)

I don't see eleven as hypersensitive to the race issue, but it is a short hop, skip and jump from race discussions to flaming, baiting and bashing quite often. I couldn't even count all the race threads that have been pulled wholesale here, long before it was eleven that could have been counted as the most active.

Like barney fife, I think she is merely trying to just nip it in the bud, on those threads, so that they do stand once in a while.

Real One,

Please show me where I pointed out your posts or anyones specifically in my original response to this thread? Now I did ask you a question regarding something you specifically said towards me.

Real0ne -> RE: CM rules ? (9/25/2007 1:17:56 PM)

imo the people on this board are the more hypersensitive (as a whole) than other boards!

passions very often overule the brain then shit hits the fan LOL
