Honestly I'm not sure it has much to do with equal opportunity laws, those are not all that hard to get around and are violated constantly. I think the point you might be missing is that most men have found some value to women in the workplace, although I still run across the should be barefoot and pregnant "honey" statements occasionally as my line of work is rather old school still, I can think of many careers and jobs where women are preferred over men that were typically not open to women before.
It is probably true that I can't carry bricks and alot of women can't....you won't ever give birth to a child and further our race in that way either, both of these are pretty important to our success.
