"Who's Viewing Me", and what do you do about it?

Status: offline 		Along the lines of the "Is "hi" enough to respond to? " thread, I'm wondering what you do about all those names that appear when you press the "Who's Viewing Me" button on the other side of CM.

One of the things I've noticed is how very few of them are from anywhere near me. Most are American tho' there are some as far apart as England and New Zealand.

Almost none have ever written me, tho' some are familiar to me here.

On average two-thirds are pink while the remaining third is mostly blue with a smattering of red.

So I am curious:

What reasons do you have for viewing another's full profile?

What do you do when you see someone's name appear on the "Who's Viewing Me" list?

I rarely view anyones profile but when i do its pure curiosity.

What do you do when you see someone's name appear on the "Who's Viewing Me" list?
Nothing, most message me, sometimes i reply, sometimes i don't.

Status: offline 		A lot of times, i perv profiles when i'm on this side just to get a basic idea of someone. As far as what i do with who views me -  i do nothing. They looked and, if they didn't then contact me, i assume they had nothing to say to me. And i get the same thing - lots of ppl view that never send a message. What makes me giggle is the ones that view me over and over - yet never send a message. Those are the ones i think, "and they keep viewing me why???" lol

Status: offline 		I like people watching. I often sit down at cafés and just enjoy looking at other people, what they do, how they move and behave. Browsing profiles here is a similar thing. It doesn't mean anything specific unless I decide to write a message to them.

I never really check who's been watching me because I don't really care who's looking, whether they be just people watching like me, browsing for something more or for plain curiosity.  I actually find the who's viewing me feature rather pointless to be honest.

do you ever look at them to figure out who they are and then go, oh they are the ones that viewed me a few days ago...guess what they do that back...and its a viscious endless cycle....lol....

Status: offline 		Depends if they become regular posters or not, whether they have a good photograph or icon or a change of one and to see what country they are in - country depends on how people behave and respond - especially on the political threads and that gives an insight into their values at times.  And you can't write without clickying the profile unless you are piggybacking a mail they sent to you.
 
As for people who view us - that's up to them.  What do I do?  Not a lot unless they have written specifically.

Status: offline 		If I wasn't about to meet someone next weekend I might email someone who viewed my profile. However many who view, are from quite far away. I think it's from posting here, they'd get left alone in all but very unusual circumstances. So right now if you view me pretty much it leads to me seeing your name, maybe me viewing you.

Status: offline 		I view profiles just out of curiosity for different reasons. Maybe I want to know where they live, interests ets. If I want to communicate with them I send a message. Otherwise I am just bored and looking at profiles.

What is the problem ? Surely the logical thing to do is get up the full profile to read when short version  looks interesting. The "who is viewing me" means very little for a Dom(me) as most subs are not so forward as to write first ( if at all !). However, one can make some good friends by sending of a polite hullo to people who have viewed - after first reading their full profile, of course !

Status: offline 		For people viewing me, I do nothing. Just because they looked doesn't mean a damn thing. Heck I've "viewed" peoples profiles by accident when I clicked the wrong tab. No biggy.

Now if someone new pops up on my Admirers list then sometimes I send a quick note to say hi. But then again, don't always do that either.

My question would be, why does it bother you that people are looking? I'd think it was a good thing.

Status: offline 		I see who has viewed me (because I'm a raging egomaniac), but I rarely write them unless they have written me. I occasionally check out someone's profile if I am curious about who wrote a certain post or what have you. I don't put a lot of weight into either who is looking at me, or visa versa.

I wouldn't read into anything about others viewing me.  I have all sorts of individuals view me and are not remotely a match.  I admit I view people's profiles as to see if they are close to me and or their area to which I can get BDSM support and or education groups more local to that individual.  Networking is a wonderful tool as to help others.
 
In addition, I have had people contact me just to compliment my profile and or ask me questions.  I do not mind helping others.
 
Just some thoughts.
