I am guessing in your case , that many of those are from people who are curious to know more about the man that posts here so frequently on collarchat and that they actually found what you wrote as being interesting , I would suggest taking those view me's as compliments

I'm mostly here to find a model or two to develop a new line of leather bondage gear.

I usually just look out of curiosity. Most are into the whole D/s thing-and that always ruins what little interest I had to begin with-if it's personal.

I view for three reasons…

#1 If I am looking at my home search area and I see someone in my area that I do not know, I look at his or her profile to see if we have anything in common.

#2 If I am in the discussion forum and I see an interesting post I like to see what that person is like

#3 In the mood I do like to look at the pictures.

I would think that if you have a lot of views you either have a sexy avatar or you are interesting.

As others have said, I usually don't "do" anything.  I realize that most people view my profile either because of something I've posted in the forums or because I viewed them because of something they posted themselves.  I occasionally look at who viewed me just out of curiosity.  If I see a name of someone I recently viewed, sometimes I'll drop them a short note to explain why I viewed their profiles.  I've made the acquaintance of some of the nicest people by doing this.  But that's it...a short exchange...I wouldn't read much into it at all if I were you.  It could be a compliment, as someone said, or it could be that they're wanting to find out more about the "nut" who just posted on some thread[8D].  Who knows?  Doesn't really matter much to me............luci

i play the 'who's viewing me' as a game sometimes...(it can be great fun)... i.e... one of the regs will view me.... i'll view them.... they'll view me... (hey i am soooo easily entertained)... [sm=dance.gif]

The only time it ever caused me even the slightest concern was once this guy sent me a 'form' email (you know, they send the same thing to a dozen others). Well i responded and simply told him if he couldn't send me something original i wasn't interested and good luck in his search. WELL he responded by basically telling me he hoped the next time i jumped out of an airplane that my 'chute not open and a myriad of down right scarey things.  i tried to respond, but he had blocked me.  Then for the next several days AFTER he blocked me he continued to view me.  Sorta creeped me out.

Who do I view? Most of the time , they are people who post on the boards, and have either said something odd, something controversial, something along my direct lines of thinking , or something totally different that what I think, and it makes me curious about who they are.
Sometimes they are people that Master mentions
Sometimes they are people I know or know of
Sometimes they have an amazing journal, or at least something interesting to read. (I can think of one Dom who has the most negative journal ever...but for some reason I always read his latest rant. Maybe I think that one day I'll ask him why he's so down on EVERYTHING?)
Sometimes I just like looking at the pictures
Sometimes I hear on the board where they've been through some major event,- new Dom, losing a Dom, an illness, etc that they might write more about on their profile than on in the boards.

What do I do about people who view me? Nothing really, sometimes it makes me look at their profile, but mostly I figure people are looking for the same reasons I am, Or if they are looking for a slave, then looking at my profile showed I wasn't available, and they moved on to the next person. No problem with that.

More than once I've found a recent addition to that list responding to me in a thread.

Indeed, given the locations of so many on the list, I find it hard to believe I've appeared on any search they would be likely to run (unless they're in Canada).

But I don't assume compliments. The most I'd claim to be motivating their visits is curiosity.

Compliments come in the form of messages.

I now peruse a person's file that has posted something before I respond to it.  I check age and experience and determine if what I have to say will be of any merit to their situation.  The younger they are, the less likely they will listen until they have fallen on their face allllllllll by themselves.

I find it interesting to look who has read my profile, I always look at theirs in return, and have even been known to message someone and tell them I was disappointed they'd checked me out but not contacted me.
The worst that can happen is they won't reply, there's no need to get hung up on the fact someone was interested enough to find out more and look at your full profile, surely it should be a compliment that your self introduction caught their eye.
 
As for submissives rarely contacting Dominants, I've had quite a few, think it's because I'm listed as a switch, so therefore not as scary to approach as someone declaring themselves as a Dominant? Ah who cares, people are people no matter which side of the fence you're on.

I reply to every message and speak to everyone as an individual regardless of orientation, at least until we've met or established a desire to explore further.

Why I view a profile:

Mostly to get a better perspective of whom the person is if they have posted something on the message board or written me. Sometimes just basic things like whether they are dominant or submissive and male or female. Sometimes their words whether interesting or puzzling to see if to take them seriously or best to just ignore.

I also viewed profiles from all types when I first posted mine in order to see what I liked and what I didn’t.

I will also clicked on one if they come up when I sign in and the picture or words are interesting to me just for enjoyment.

I tried that in my last biz and went broke. I have to look at the bottom line-or do something else.
It's not about being the man-it's about survival chelle.

Just for general information for everyone...others can see your whole profile other than the interests, from full verbiage to journals, without ever clicking full profile.  It is possible to scroll and see everything but the checklist.  I have had people that I know read the verbiage because they followed a directive, without them ever showing up on the viewing button.  So if someone doesn't care what your checkboxes are, they can see everything else without you knowing(not that that is a big deal, I'm just letting everyone know)  The only difference I believe is if you click a poster on this side, you automatically go to the full profile, although that may have changed recently also.
