I don't have any good dog stories.  I had a hero cat about 10 years ago.  Someone tried to crawl through an open window where my Patches liked to sit and bask in the cool breeze.  (it was like 2 am) He came face to face with spitting, ticked off mama kitty and lost a quarter of his ear and nearly an eye.  I had to rip her off him and have the cops call an ambulance!  Best part was when this guy who tried to break into MY house was screaming about suing ME and the cop looked at him and said "wait, you just got the Sh*t kicked out of you by a cat.  do you REALLY want everyone in prison to know that???"

My opinion, stick fido on him!!!! good for you!!!  I hope every time he walks past a hybrid doggie he pees himself! LOL  I bet $5 that guy who tried to crawl through my window  has a panic attack every time someone meows!!!! LOL

Sounds like your intruder got a little more pussy than he had planned on.

Had I given the dog the other command, the whole sleeve thing wouldn't work for shit (nor the short vertical wedge).  He'd have gone for the lower body to put the intruder on the ground, probably with a shoulder impact on the knee.

That advice sounds like something from an "Anarchist Cookbook" knock-off.  A punch right between the eyes can be effective against a charging dog, or a kick to the lower jaw.  Of course, if there are two properly trained dogs (soon), you are completely fucked.

Of course I've cut through yards.  I've also raided a few gardens for watermelons (they taste better when you steal them).  The critical difference is that I had the decency to at least feign feeling guilty about it when caught.  It was the attitude I was presented with that made it go the way it did, the tone of his voice as much as the words.

Fuck it.  We closed escrow this afternoon.

We must remember though that children only know what they are taught by their parents.  One of the advantages of living in a neighborhood is that it is not difficult to find out who is whom.  Once you find out who he is a chat with his folks might be in order.  I can still remember a few instances where I was called to explain why I had done such and such while the aggrieved party was standing in our kitchen.

'Fraid I have to disagree.  I would say this one was certainly taught about disregarding fences by someone other than his parents.

More seriously, I fear the days of juvenile misbehavior being handled between adults in kitchens are a thing of the past, at least around here.  As you pointed out, apples don't fall far from the tree.  More likely, such an approach would get me verbally abused about the brat being precious and incapable of wrong-doing.

I heard, but haven't Googled, that crime is on the decline in Watts and Compton.  I have a guess about where it went...
