I would like to add that when in an argument when one side is basically left with yelling, calling the other side names and gross generalizations that they are losing the argument badly.

The President and his blind mice have been nothing but name calling and making gross generalizations usually in a condescending way going on years now. It would just be the greatest if terrorism could be contained and destroyed by occupying a small piece of land. Unfortunately, that is not how it works and it just scares the hell out of me to think people actually believe it.

The days of occupying territory means victory is long gone!

Once again, I must turn my eyes to the north to find reason and discernment.
Thanks, DG...

To the OP:

Have you ever seen footage of Hitler or heard any of his speeches?  I studied him extensively, how he spoke, the body language he used, and what consistently amazed me was his ability to convince people that the horrific ideas he had were something to cheer, but cheer they did.  To downplay the atrocities put forth by Hitler is irresponsible at the least.

well wishes ~ fairer than she

This tired old lie?

Surely you aren't claiming that Al Gore was lying when he called cutting the strength of the military one of his great acheivements?

Why...why...that would mean he could be lying about other stuff...

In reality what bearing does the strength of our military have to do with what is going on in Iraq?  What troops we have deployed thus far have been not been effective....By reducing the size of our military did we also reduce the brain power of the generals and the heads of state who have managed this war?....I don't recall the forced lobotomies?...But I could be mistaken

The brain power of our military and political leaders hit its lowest possible point a loooooong time ago.

And the point is, they have been sending troops out without supplies and babbling about 'acceptable losses', long before this bunch of  clowns took over.

People all people any people need a reason to give up an old life. They need to know it's the right thing to do. You cant just leave a void..they wont go for that..Mass chaos.
What give us the right to think we know what's best for other people?
It's simple really. They started it…Neenerneener. We got dragged into it and to make sure this wont happen again, we go in, knock down some doors. "Hey you're bugging the world..Knock it off." Toss some nasty shit at them.
Change their whole culture-Make them see the light- and then we're out.
After of course we leave 40/50 thousand troops and some supplied there.
Apologize for all this 40 year later
And alls good.
Until some other country decides to be a bitch. And then it all happens again.

warning, this is really a political rant...

ok...i am tired of hearing about how 3,000 deaths in a couple of buildings in the middle of a war is unacceptable...umm hello! its a war...people die....in wars!!  there are people out there, and while they wear the same business suits as everyone else around them so it makes them very hard to distinguish the good from the bad, they still want our soldiers dead...because if our pilots  "just came home" they would keep overthrowing our governments (Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine) follow them...cocooning up in a little ball does NOT make us safe...and by the way...when its really hard to get in, its really hard to get out...think about a prison...

people accuse me, because of my age of not knowing about the past, but has it been so long that ya'll have forgotten about the major wars the West has fought to control our oil in just the past 100 years...people fucking died...all the time...did we take our toys and go home cause we got over there and went oh shit, the bullets are real? NO....we got into it, because we saw a need and we finished what we said we were going to do....and just because the fighting was in our back yards, did we give up? NO you fucking people we don't pack up our bags because ....just because they have overwhelming military superiority...that just leaves them feeling safe because they are surrounded by oceans....psychology/sociology 101....change is uncomfortable...individuals and groups will hold on to miserable familiarity with their gas guzzling SUVs rather than go through uncomfortable change no matter how good the outcome would be on the other side of that change....

btw...because Hitler had the financial support of people like the Bush family, the Rockefellers, the DuPonts or if the coup those people tried to do to overthrow Roosevelt had succeeded, or if the Republican’s had been more successful in keeping the US from rearming or supporting England, or entering WWII....we would still have concentration camps around the world....cause some of those SS soldiers lived to a ripe old age off the art and jewelry they stole from Jews they killed and took to concentration camps....

In an invasion/war/subjugation situation, e.g. Iraq, bombs are dropped, many indiscriminate: children lose mothers, thousands of men are killed and this leaves mothers to bring up a family in a situation where food is scarce (imagine the angst of  not knowing whether or not you're going to find food for your child), sanitation is smashed, electricity and running water is scarce at best, homes are bombed leaving the surviving members of the family without a home, work is non-existent which means people wander the streets aimlessly without a purpose in life, disease spreads, chaos ensues as there is no sense of order to restrain people and liberties are taken in the form of old scores being settled.

Of course they want your "soldiers" dead, they've bombed them and left the place in a mess.

to the op....i would never dismiss you because of your age-  and i enjoy reading your posts....

that said, most of the time, youth sees the world through the eyes of youth, and maturity(sounds better than old fart) sees the world through the eyes of maturity.  i am not calling you immature at all.....

save all this and read it in 20 years or so......then you will possibly understand that what you perceive as having been dismissed due to age was just others seeing things from a totally different perspective....a perspective you can not get until you live longer....

at your age i was so sure of so many things, and now i think good grief i was young and dumb and full of......well......yanno....

dont lose your passion about things, but dont think age doesnt provide some wisdom.....for most.....some are just effin hopeless....

now i will sweetly say....dear youre young, and the points made in your rant are wacko to me.......

I understand what you're saying, but your statements just rubbed Me the wrong way.
Shut up.
Age and wisdom are not necessarily commensurable. I started college at 16, but no peer ever thought differently of Me, as they all simply assumed I was 20 or 21 due to My awesome and intelligent imput.

Nowadays, it's really annoying when I hear "0Hhh mAi gAhhhh, YOUR only 22???!1" when I would rather have the focus elsewhere. Like on My magnificent tits.

Body armor, armored transportation and radios were part of our TO way back in the sixties when I was in the military...it is not a new concept.  O311 is about as basic as infantry gets.

M:
I live in southern California.  I go to Mexico (because that is where the good tequila is) several times a year.  Crossing the boarder either in a car or on foot is not a task for the faint hearted.  Not counting the one to three hour wait in line (either on foot or in a car) you will spend about five minutes discussing your life with the person at the counter who will "wave" you through after you have been through three different scanners and constant video and audio surveillance.  If you have set off any of the metal detectors you will be hand searched and if you have a pocket knife of virtually any description(yes they took my two inch long swiss army knife) it will be confiscated.
Crossing the boarder is not what a lot of folks will tell you it is.
Going into Mexico all they do is wave to you and say, with a smile,  "Buenos dias senior...welcome to Mexico I hope you enjoy your visit"
