Well there is nothing wrong with aggressive behaviour per say but it all depends how and when and if it is appreciated. I guess there is a difference between aggressively pursuing and being aggressive towards the woman you are pursuing.

I find that many self-identified male subs are extremely aggressive when they approach me and it often gets worse if I tell them that I'm not interested. They often attempt to flame and/or interrogate me. I'm sure that's not your style Ranger, I'm just saying...

Oh yeah, huge difference between aggressive pursuit and being aggressive towards the woman being persued. Aggressive persuit is not a problem, but the first time a boy is aggressive towards me (even if we have already collared him) I'll probably kill him - brings up some very bad times for me that I don't wish to re-live. I actually have had this problem before with a boy.

Agressive pursuit, however, that would be a nice change from someone sitting around waiting for me to make a move ... again *sigh*

UtopianRanger -> RE: Courtship and "pursuit" (7/28/2005 12:05:57 AM)

I would identify your {and Lady A's} characterization of ''aggressive'' as ''over-pursuit''of a Woman. Over-pursuit is both a nuisance and a complete turnoff for a woman. And for any guy worth half his salt, that would amount to nothing more than an ego drain.

How bout aggressive as in ''Not waiting around'' or aggressive as in ''blocking out the boards like Ben Wallace'' when trying to pull down rebounds. That's what I'm talking about.

Edited to Add : I think of ''aggressive'' in the context of any good sports metaphor ;}

Over-persuit is what I call "desparate clinging" ... I guess maybe active pursuit would be a better description than agressive pursuit.

SadisticPrincess -> RE: Courtship and "pursuit" (7/28/2005 10:52:29 AM)

Desperate clinging, and the inability to take no for an answer that leads to outright nastiness. Even stalkery behavior. THAT kind of aggro we do not need.

P.S. I don't equate that to arrogance, but rather weakness
