And this is the other. I think the next one I get is gonna be the kanji for "tenshi" - angel - on my other breast.

Tattoos are interesting little art pieces. I have seen some horrid ones and others that I would love to stand and stare at all day long. A well placed tattoo on a woman is very sexy. I happen to have a serious thing for the ones at the base of the spine... those turn me on.... and I mean horny... wait, what were we discussing?

A tattoo that is designed or thought up by the wearer gives a glimpse inside of them.

Has any one noticed that the majority that have replied with tattoos are women? Hhmmmm.

Ok to answer my own post;

I like tattoos if they are done well. I'm not particularly fond of a full suit of them. I think they can say a lot about a person.

I have 2.

My experience was much the same as greenies. The outlining was painful, the filling in was annoying, and everytime he went over my spine it got my attention. The original process lasted aprox. 3 hours for the one on my back. By the end of that time I was in a state most refer to as sub space.

Both my tattoos have significance.

I'd get another one right now if He'd let me. But I was asked to wait, so I will. At one time I had planned on covering my whole back.

I'd like to thank everyone again for sharing. This has turned out to be a great thread!

What do you think of them?
I don't have much of an opinion of them in general. I find they look good on some people and silly on others. It all depends.

Do you have any?
I have one on my inner left thigh. In about another 15 months and another $1,500, it will be gone. And yes, it hurts way more getting it removed then getting it done. Think of someone burning you with a lit cigarette over and over for about 5 minutes. My experience with pain management as a masochist helps a little but it's still killer.

If yes, what was your experience like? Did it have significance?
I was 20, under the influence of mind altering substances and with a butch dyke in a biker bar with a tattoo parlour. Lovely huh? I woke up the next morning with a lesbian symbol (2 Venus symbols intertwined) tattooed on my inner thigh. I had considered it before that night but I guess the substances gave me an extra dose of courage/stupidity.

Would you get another if asked to?
Absolutely not. This tattoo is perhaps one of the only things in my life that I regret doing so much. I haven't been to a public beach in 13 years because of it. Now if it was flower or a butterfly or something less harsh, I wouldn't have had this reaction, I'm sure. But this mark on my body has caused me a lot of pain. I am not ready to chance it again.

Would you be willing to share a picture if possible?
In 15 months, when it's all gone, sure!

- LA

I have two tatts, one on each forearm from the early days when I was still serving in the Australian Army. I am planning to have the military one refreshed and encased with my own Celtic knot work design. The other one was a stripper which I am planning to have revamped as a kajira again with Celtic knot work. Two other ones I am planning are on my right wrist the Japanese character for master and on my left wrist a scimitar with the blade facing outwards (The Goreans will recognise the mark of the Kavar from the Tahari) On each shoulder I will have an Celtic knot circle encompassing on my left shoulder a SF badge and on the right the knot work circle encompassing a yin/yang with the tiger/dragon motif. Across my back, from shoulder to shoulder a Celtic Morphic pattern to form a triangle pointing down my spine which will feature in the centre a picture of a grizzly (the great bear)

What do you think of them?
I think they are okay-to each their own...
Do you have any?
No, I do not...
If no, would you be willing to get one if asked to?
I am not sure...it would depend on the tattoo...and who was doing it.

okay...Story time....
I nearly got one a few months after I met My submissive. W/we decided to follow through with her covering up a tat another Dom put on her without her consent-his initial like a branding that she was His. she was only in training and was not His property. It brought her pain to see it. So she had it covered as a beautiful red rose and added My first name initial to it. I sat beside her watching ~as much as I could endure, I am a wuss at the site of blood~and when I saw how well she took it...and it wasa lot of RED to cover his initial...I was so jacked to get one. I was either going to the rainbow BDSM symbol like you see to the left....or the black ink sign for ARIES with the black ink symbol of Sagitarrius going up through the Aries one...So anyways...she is all done...W/we are leaving etc and we climb in the car and I am Sooooooooo proud of her and was totally in awe...when the door shut she was like OMFG THAT HURT LIKE HELL!!! I sat tehre like WHAT??? totally freaked...okkkk so much for THAT TATTOO IDEA
Never went back...lol...

I love it when people get Chinese tattoos and don't know the meaning of what some dumass is putting on their bodies. People, just because a poster on the tattoo-parlor wall says such-and-such means "Born Free" doesn't mean it's true.

Which is why I commissioned Eri Takase (www.takase.com) to create my kanji tatoo for me. I was taken through a process of discussion to make sure the meanings were accurate for what I wanted them to say and then an aesthetically pleasing designed was created. It wasn't cheap and more than doubled the cost of the tattoo alone but at least I can be confident that it says what I want it to.

Just to add to that, I went into my local tattooist last weekend, to discuss my tattoo I am to have done, and He had an article about a man who went into a tattooist for the chinese symbols of 'hope, peace and truth' kinda thing, and came out with - 'This is one ugly Man'....

Peace and Love

I have 2 tattoos right now, and would like to get more. I also think that they are addicting. I have never experienced much pain with mine and no problems after. This is the one on my arm.
