Well, part of the confusion I have is that naming your slave should be a very personal decision based on your own feelings towards said slave.

Emphasis on personal.

Meaning (to me at least) the effort to have the answer come from you is tainted once you start asking other people. Then the answer doesn't come from you as much as it does from the community around you.

When I'm pleased with someone, I address him as "puppy." It's not a name so much as an endearment. With one person, my pet name for him was poppet. It expressed my affection and his (enjoyable) belittlement.

I can see how some people might have a submissive space name -- when being addressed with this name, it would be an indication of entering into a D/s dynamic. It would be a temporary shift. I've never done that, but it would be an interesting device.

When I think of naming someone, though, I think of something more serious and committed. You would arrive at your submissive's name through your experiences together and your knowledge of her. It's a personal process.

Words have psychological power. With this said find several sites with names and their meaning. Look at the meanings and then the name. The meaning of the name and the sound should reach out to you intuitively when you find it.

I still disagree. Maybe you see posts as they apply to everyone - and that is the difference between you and I becaue I can only give a response as something is and means to me - not anyone else.

People talking about finding names is cool. I just believe it's commen sense really to know where to look. When I named my children, I just looked through names. But the naming itself is personal.

You are the one naming the question as possibly 'stupid', not I nor anyone else as far as I read - you are reading far further into peoples responses than are there.

Look for traits that she has things that she will do and then pick a name from there :)
