Hello All
Is it reasonable for a sub to expect that a Domme that is looking for a service oriented sub (cleaning, etc), that she doesn't live like a pig in the first place??
That she is either too lazy herself or just a slob when it comes to general housework and how she lives in general? That she expects a sub to make up for all that? Just curious.

Yes it is reasonable.  Just because you are a submissive, that doesn't mean that you can't have standards.

It may be reasonable to some, and unreasonable to others. If it doesn't work for you, it doesn't work for you.

I keep my apartment and my toys neat and in order, but I do like having a houseboy to clean and run errands. But I don't expect a service person to take the place of my upkeep of my things.

Depends on whats going on, is she a slob or busy.  My home by Thursday can look like a tornado hit it because life happens, but by Saturday night when I have more time its neat as a pin.

Actually she was a COMPLETE slob, should have checked her house out first however in public, very neat, car very clean etc. But I committed & I honor my commitments but should have left when she opened the door and invited me in. BTW, I was told to have my spandex hood on at the door.
How bad you say? A ton of flea bites & developed contact derminititis afterwards.

I like to keep my house very clean underneath (floors, counters, carpet, etc) and have a tiny bit of clutter on top. Because I have so many house projects going on right now, both inside and out in the yard, my place looks like a bomb went off.  It would look very scary to any sub.  However, no fleas!!

By next week, everything should be back to normal.
Cross your fingers, k?

And, I guess you thought her place would be much neater, from the look of her and her car when you met?

Spandex hood? What's that?

Next time, you'll know what to expect, or hope for at least...

I think flea infestations would be a hard limit. And I consider my place messy, but not by single college guy standards.

Sadly yes, you should have checked things out much more thoroughly than you did.

You should have an "out clause" in any contract you make with someone.

Remember at the end of it all you are the only person who is fully responsible for you so take your time and make the best choices you can.

Personally I would be embarassed if I were her.  My house is messy (pick things up and clean under them!) but no worse than a lot of people.  I just finished painting my bathroom and would love a service slave to paint the rest!  lol.  My sub and I will get to it eventually!

This was beyond messy.

Anyway, as my paternal grandfather told me in my youth - "You burn your ass, you sit on the blister"

The out clause for me would have been the fleas, definately. But who can or does think of that when deciding on a committed relationship? I can see the conversation now... BTW... is your home infested with some sort of insect? Am I going to catch anything from being in your home for longer then a few minutes? lmao

All I can say is wow... seriously... wow.

Sparks? Think of it this way... it's another learning experience. You now know what questions to ask and to insist on seeing the person in their natural habitat before committing. See... something good has come from it.

What reason would you have to expect how a person keeps their home?

If a service submissive were to claim he or she wanted to clean for me, should I be self-conscious about impressing them with my own domestic skills?  Should I worry whether it's too dirty for them to clean it?  If my place needed cleaning, and they said they desired to do that, to be of service to me in a way I could use and appreciate, then that is what it is, not my "expecting a sub to make up for" something.

If you mean, is it reasonable for you to be surprised at the extreme condition of her home, of course.  If you mean, is it reasonable for you to politely bow out, when you cannot abide the conditions, or you feel the conditions are unhealthy, or, for that matter, when you feel that the conditions say something about her, personally, that makes you want to withdraw from serving her, to all, I would say, yes, it would be reasonable for you to withdraw as politely as possible, even immediately.  On her side, it would have been responsible of her to give you some warning, at least about the fleas! so you could make an informed choice.

I continue to be shocked and dismayed at the conditions of other people's homes, behind closed doors - sometimes for good and occasionally, for very bad.  In the situation you mentioned, I think I could not stay, at all.

I've been mulling something over for a long time. What are the chances of a service oriented submissive offering themselves to another submissive who needs help with stuff? It would be work that is paid for of course, but would it be likely that a service sub would be interested if there was no female dominant involved? *no fleas here either, I promise!

Whenever I have a sub come to my home to clean, I try and make the house neat so they can clean and scrub properly...
Maybe I'll leave dishes in sink from that morning and not make the beds, but that's about it.  I would be horrified if my house was in the condition I hear some of these subs talk about.

My house is almost in that condition. I feel too embarrassed for a residential cleaning company (yeah I know that is their purpose..to clean).I don't know where to start and I only have about 2 hours of energy a day lol which is why it has gotten to the state it is! Ahhh to be soon moving to a smaller easier to take care of place. My question is serious though. I feel much less embarrassed asking advice here cuz no one can actually see the mess.

Camille,
Your house is almost in what condition?  Like my house or a house like the op described?
You didn't actually ask a question though..Did you?

Yes I asked a question in post 13, and yes my house is nearing the state of the OP. Okay it isn't that bad.. but it is bad enough that it stresses me out.Crap. Now I feel stupid for even mentioning it lol.

Oops.  Didn't see that.

Why would you not be ashamed for a sub, who could potentially wind up being a friend to you, to see your house but ashamed for cleaners to see it?

Side note:  Don't clean it.  Start throwing shit away.  One garbage bag a day.
Be merciless.
You have NO idea how therapeutic this can be.

It is a scientific fact the 96.7% of all Dommes dommeciles are in shambles.....You should count your blessings that they only wanted you to clean.....Imagine if you were asked to perform some sort of sexual tasks....If a woman is to lazy to clean her home....I can only imagine that her go-go hole should most likely be closed down by the EPA as well.

domidearest it is not laziness, it is lupusness.BSB I don't know what makes it different honestly. I just would feel more comfortable for some reason and wondered if it were a feasible idea. Oh I have thrown away tons of stuff, I'm slowly packing my house so I can sell it. Knick knack stuff is down to an absolute minimum  and yesssss it feels fantastic to be rid of useless stuff.Bah it was a dumb idea I know.
