Master and i lived 5000km apart diagonally opposite in Australia. W/we'd known each other a long time online and on phone before the opportunity arose for U/us both to meet in another city about the same distance from both of U/us but not in line between. W/we met ... had 5 fabulous days and majorly hit it off! A couple of months later i was going to a conference in New Zealand and arranged some extra holiday time to stop in at Master's home for 11 days. 3 months later He shelled out to come to my city and stay for 3 weeks. By then W/we were sure W/we wanted to be together, so 3 months later i flew to His capital city and then the pair of U/us drove His car and trailer of stuff across country, as it seemed wiser for Him to relocate to me. And now, 2.5 years later, W/we've just driven back to His home state to live! So how far would i go? Well so far i've travelled about 20,000km ... and He was worth every one!

However, not ALL long distance relationships work out so well, and it really hinges on knowing the person as well as possible beforehand and perhaps having something else to make the initial trip worthwhile if you don't gel with the person!

I drove 150 miles to meet Master and continued to do that nearly every weekend for the next 6 months (there were times he came to me) until I could move to where he was.

His previous sub and wife came from New York and flew over about 4 times to meet him before make a permanent move.

For the right person any distance is ok.

I at one time traveled 750 miles to see my then owner. Sometimes I drove , sometimes I flew. I personally don't go by distance I go by the person themselves. We made it work and it was worth it. When you feel an attraction to someone you just have to give it a whirl.  It  can become expensive to travel long distances for a long time.

I've only travlled once and that was three weeks ago....didn't stay overnight though.
I love my kids, my cats and my dogs and sis and her kids far too much.
Usually I accomodate and shuffle kids.
I want to re-locate though and eventually quit the UK and go. It's like tuppa wear country here....grey and stuuffed up its own anal retentive consciousness.
I also intuitively feel that re-locating and going to someone would be part of my act of submission. I cook, clean, dance and have an OUTRAGEOUS IQ and EI. That's on my CV if anyone is interested.
PS When I say housework is a hard limit I meant I also have a sense of humour. Someone one day will ask me to travel to the ends of the earth and i shall be willing.

I think this topic is amusing. Most of the men in the NJ/NYC area want women who live in their backyards from the all the geographic questions I get. I have had men who live in NJ in the next county say I was too far away.

Whether you will travel or not depends on how interested or inspired you are, some people will cross continents for you, others think driving to the next town is too far.

My ex lived 30 miles from me and he found it no problem to come by. So these days, I do not travel to meet anyone, they have to come to me if they are interested.

For this "D", the distance is not relavant, but rather the individual. If we have explored ea other according to my approach then it is time to meet;regardless of the distance.

Furthest for me was San Francisco to Miami.

My home is in Australia, and my Master is in Virginia USA. I have flown back and forth 5 times in less than 2 years. At the moment im in Va on an extension visa. Yep the commute is a bitch, but hes worth it. Hoping to make it permanant when i marry him and can get a green card. Gotta admit though usally long distance r/ships dont work, but in my case ive been extremely lucky.Flown all this way to get my ass beat..and yep it was worth every minute on that stinkin plane..lol.

I have travelled and had Dominants travel to see me.  Farthest I have gone was 1400 miles for weekends every few months, and have also driven 300 miles once or twice a month.  Personally, I don't mind the travel.  I have met exceptional people and wouldn't have if I had limited myself to a certain distance.  The one thing that bothered me in the 300 mile relationship was that I was the one who always made the trip.  Not once in a year and a half did he come to see me, even the few times he drove to a nearby city for business or something.  That hurt.  Now, I think I would have to see if they would at least occasionally make the trip to me.

I've had women from Europe come to visit and one from Vancover Island BC took godawful bus trip here. It is very difficult for me to travel due to my responsibilities to my animals but given the right set of circumstances I would be happy to travel any place in the world that is relatively safe and interesting.

I've flown from Manchester to Glasgow.
It's simple for me I travel they accomodate.
No smoking rules in hotels has removed that option.
Sat nav is on my list of things I need to buy.
I arrange the first meet half way.
It's only fair as no one sees a photograph of me before a meet.
Trust has to start early on.

Finances allowing, i'd travel around to world to meet folks. I've flown cross country a few times to meet folks, some good some bad. Big thing you need to do is just plan on a short weekend visit the first time. And always try and have yourself a fast out of it turns into a nightmare.

I travelled from Birmingham, UK to South Bend, Indiana for a very feisty woman I met on AstroMate a few years back. Although she was mostly submissive, I'd just begun to get her interested in Domming me when we broke up, drat it!

To the OP....Distance is simply a perspective. If two people are determined enough to make it work then distance shouldn't be made an issue in the least.
