See, this is a tough call because you never know if the risk will be worth the reward. 

i have traveled from Phx to Ohio (vanilla disaster), from Phx to Dallas (my first Dom and worth every mile and then some!), and also from San Diego (where i live now) to Portland (vanilla, not worth the trip...i want a "do over" on that one).  i would not travel long distance for vanilla ever again (okay, never say never, but i highly doubt it) and i'm not certain i'd like to do it for D/s, either. 
 
On the other hand, i've had no luck meeting A/anyone here in San Diego and until just a few days ago was involved with an Orange County Dom.  That's only 70 miles up the road but yet he found less time to spend with me than my Dom from Dallas.
 
It's a roll of the dice...and the ROI isn't always worth it...but, i'll probably try again if i don't find Him in my own backyard.  i mean, really...what are the odds of finding that special connection with someone who lives right next door?
 
i have listed on my profile that i'm seeking real time only and i want to meet others from SoCal only, but i still get emails from out of state...and those are usually the most interesting ones.

to me, if B/both are willing to make the relationship work, then distance should not be a factor. my Master is in Florida and i am in Nebraska. it is a bit difficult but W/we are doing O/our best.

I first met my pet in 2001, just after 9/11, We finally got together at an  weekend online get together in St Louis, I went down with a bunch of local friends in the scene on a road trip...and travelled from toronto to detroit, then thru down to MO...Since then Ive travelled to LI,OH, MD, VA and WV, usually flying into DC. I do this about  3-4 times a year depending on timing, money, etc etc. He has also driven up a few times but its a nine hour trip. All in all, its very worth it. I got back from my latest trip  just last week and Im still in happy land

As I sit here, very, very single {did I mention I was single?}.
I would consider allowing someone to travel from anywhere in the USA,
IF he was willing to put in the long hours and hard work of getting to know me FIRST.
 
I have found that 98.5% of the submissives that approach me online are not going to do that,
nor do what it takes for me to even consider meeting them.
If you can't follow my agenda, I am not going to run out and meet you,even if you live 10 minutes away.
I had one submissive I chatted with off and on for over a year, that lived about 20 minutes from me.
I never met him, because I could not even depend on him to call when I asked.
I know many on here only seek local, and at this time I am not really able to relocate.

I would rather have a long distance relationship with the right loving person, than be single, OR settle for someone local who was not the one I really wanted!

It's a little different for me, I suppose, but my Dom/boyfriend and I met over the internet. He traveled 2,000 miles, an 11 hour plane trip to meet me last March. Luckily, all went well! Otherwise, it'd be a waste of a $600 plane ticket!

I recently traveled about three hours across the state to meet someone and it was completely worth it in every way.  However it's his turn now ^_^

I traveled on may on this year from Spain, my city, to Indianapolis, a 24 hours travel to be at the feet of a Lady with whom have been taking here during months. I stay a week. Things werent as W/we thought but i dont regrett it at all.
Dont think so i would do it for a vanilla relationship, even have been simillar when i was a teenager, lol

I am about to take the trip my woman has taken five times which is a long brutal flight 2,525 miles from California to Florida.  Looking back I can't imagine it is only five times, we have packed so much into those precioius days together.  Slow walks through the best farmers market in California to the most depraved dungeon scenes and delicious times of just the two of us.

I just travelled about 12,000 miles. Chicago, USA to Sydney, Australia. Do I get a prize?
