I believe that conspiring to commit a misdemeanor or a felony IS a felony (in the USA) - so you are already well into your first offense.

Just bury this thread for 30 days.

Himself and I are planning a mock trial (maybe.. hehe). I'm looking for some creative/imaginative 'crimes'. Here's the scoop.

I have 30 days to commit my 'crime'. It has to be a felony of some sort and it has to be obvious to the observant. (Himself has an extensive Mickey Mantle collection but he rarely checks it as it's all put away, so it wouldn't be 'obvious' if I robbed him of it. I could rob him of his chain mail tools, but he uses those every day so wouldn't have to be observant to know I had robbed him.)

Once I commit my crime, Himself has 30 days to catch me. If he fails to catch me or notice that a crime has taken place, I'm off the hook and the statute of limitations will have run out. If I get away with the first crime, I get to commit another one. I am to be rewarded by every successful crime I commit.  If, however, he catches me, then I'll be put on trial. No jury here, he'll be the judge, but I will be allowed to defend myself and it's his job to 'prove' that I'm guilty. I'm allowed to recruit accomplices if I desire.

So, what I'm looking for are felonies that I can commit. I'm leaning towards some sort of robbery crime, but haven't ruled out grand theft auto (of the collectible Hot Wheels variety). If he catches me, he has to issue himself a subpeona and can search my person and possessions (purses, coat pockets etc) to seek out evidence to use against me. If convicted, then I have to suffer the consequences of my crime. I'm not planning on getting caught.

So, are there any criminally minded characters out there that can help me out?

Oh, I've discarded the idea of kidnapping him because that's going to get me caught for sure! I loved the idea, but I want that reward and I'd really like 'not' to get caught at my crimes.

Himself has agreed not to read this thread, so feel free to throw out any ideas. I'd appreciate them plus, if I use an idea from one of you, I can claim you're the brains behind the operation and maybe that will lessen my sentence if I get caught.

Celeste

PS: Even a list of felonies would be helpful since I'm not really 'up' on what is or is not a felony! ::laughs::

Steal a friend's identity......take her passport/bank card or something similar. For the needs to be obvious part, invite another friend (the accomplice) 'round while your partner is in the room, and every now and again she calls you by your other friend's name......and redeems herself with "errrm, I mean BitaTrouble, I've got xxxx on the brain, just been 'round her house etc".

or

Forgery. Practice his signature. Exchange a letter/document signed by him with your own typed version (word for word). But you sign the letter and leave it somewhere he'll see it. It should be obvious to him that it's not his...if he studies it. 'Not your fault if he doesn't spend his waking moments studying his past signatures.....what sort of detective is he?!

or

Coax a robber into your home...something along the lines of putting a sign in the street to the effect "we've got shit loads of money under the floor boards and we never lock the doors". When the robber enters your home, shoot him and frame one of your neighbours.....creeping into a neighbour's home before the event to take a few hairs and fingerprints will be useful. It will be obvious you've done it when it turns out that the neighbour has been in Spain for the last 3 months.

Ron, more than likely I would be whimpering like a little girl. As much from the claustrophobia as all of the other..... issues.....

psssssst........is it a female island or male? Because I gotta be honest, from what I have seen on all those prison documentaries I would probably fare better on the male one. Those prison dykes just scare the bejeezus outta me!

Indecent exposure.

When you're together with no clothes on, make a point of walking past the window (presuming the curtains aren't closed and your window faces out onto the street).

Do you know anyone that could fake the artwork in the time limitation and store the original somewhere safe for 30 days? If you replaced on the very last day of the time limit that would give him 30 days to discover. The art would still be in place and he would have to have it appraised in order to determine it isn't the original.

I don't think that fits in very well with the restriction he's placed on me that it has to be 'obvious' to the observant. He knows his pieces, but he's not expert. Not only that, I don't think I'd be able to get these particular pieces duplicated.. they are painted Chinese linens, quite large and very elaborate.  Thanks for the idea though!

Indecent exposure is only a class C misdomeanor. Most crimes such as robbery etc. have to be over $1000 in value or have a weapon while committing the crime even for them to be felonys.

~FR~

I'd like to thank everyone for all the wonderful ideas. If I am successful at my new found career, there are several that I will utilize on my crime spree. Once I commit my first act, I'll come back here to post it for the proof of date stamp and so I can start the count down to the statute of limitations running out and work towards my reward. You guys rock! Thanks again,

Celeste

Rumour has it.....they're approaching regal status, but I couldn't possibly invade someone's space for the express purpose of sizing up her crown jewels.

How about tampering with the brakes on his car, or poisoning him.....neither enough to kill him, but both enough to be a crime.....steady hand on the dose, mind you.

ahhh the "obvious" part must have slipped past unnoticed. LOL

I'm just stuck on how hot the interrogation scene would be personally once caught.

Can females be wankers????

Is there anything preventing me from flying out to the US and taking over someone's mansion on the pretext that "I value that house at 33 pounds; therefore, the law has no jurisdiction, here"? Would it stand up in court?

not really. one signs alot of papers- there would have to be a paper trail of sorts. like a mortgage on the property=- on a judement unpaid by the owner.

if you are referring to blackwell- US law- or some law does apply as it isnt possible to have no law. anyhow it goes to court- they filed the other day on it.
