We cops tend to be more than understanding when it comes to this kind of stuff. As long as everything is consensual and can be explained in the right terms; than who are we to say anything. As far as a story goes about 2 months ago I was just starting my career and was just assigned my FTO (Field Training Officer) we get hit out for a disturbance call at one of those rent by the hour motels, I never really knew they even existed; just thought it was a movie type of thing. We get there and I go up and knock on the door, no answer, knock again, and all we start to hear is screaming, look in the window and some guy is getting beat up by a girl, we end up taking the door, and low and behold it turns out to be them just in the middle of a scene and they never heard anything. Well damn now I have to replace a door out of my first paycheck, get back to the car and all we hear are screams again, and its not the same two people cause they are in the middle of talking to the manager, go up to door and still hear screams like someone is being murdered inside, take the door, ends up being the same, people in the middle of a scene. Moral of the story, dont take doors unless you have to, they get kinda expensive $ 174 a piece. Needless to say we now have a policy at that motel to get the keys first
