A few weeks ago Hillary Clinton proposed a plan to pay every child born in the US a "Baby Bond" of $5,00.00 who would pay for the 20 Billion dollar a year program, the taxpayers.  Now she droped that and is proposing the government match funds for every $500.00 to $1,000.00 people put into a 401(k), annual cost..about 25 billion, this will be paid for by an increase in the Estate, Death, or Inheritence Tax which the Democrates are trying to repeal.

Wow. You mean she is actually tossing out ideas to see which resonate with voters? Didn't GWB ban that sort of thing a while back? She better be careful or she'll find herself in gitmo as an enemy combatant.

Try to stay in reality if you can.
And of course a certain amount of people who have been raised to expect the government to take care of them would of course love Hillary's proposals.

Don't you just hate people who expect the government to take care of them?

Take AFDC, a program to provide food to the poor.  Guess who most loves that program?  Corporate farmers and their GOP brethren who fight against any cuts in that program.

Google "sugar subsidy"

Federal grazing contracts

BLM

Water

Department of Agriculture's Market Promotion Program
Estimates of annual federal spending on subsidies for private businesses that are labeled as ‘corporate welfare’ range from the libertarian Cato Institute’s figure of $65 billion (Stansel and Moore 1997) to the $167 billion estimated by the Center for the Study of Responsive Law (Donahue 1994; Shields 1995), which is associated with Ralph Nader. The most important source of this difference has to do with tax expenditures, which refer to reductions in government revenue resulting from elements of the tax code that benefit specific industries or businesses.

..oh come on Merc......pure spin, if instead of some communist bogeymen you'd put some right wing hacks or even some published economists then the whole quiz takes on a new meaning. This was not a quiz or even an argument...it was just a character assasination. You usually do better than this.......

Damn Michael!  On Moderation!?

Why not call me with your response? Meanwhile, can I try to post for you?

Merc -
WHAT a bunch of crap. Those quote are taken out of context and are just propaganda from the RNC. Bush has done more to take away our rights than Hilliary would ever try. I'm sick and tired of you and the other neocon Republican apologists who believe that the Clinton's represent the anti-Christ. The country was never better than under his Presidency and we can only hope that Hilliary continues in her husband's footsteps.

She's well on her way - I understand she already is interviewing interns and has her own brand of cigars for the Oral, I mean Oval Office.

(Okay - that last sentence wasn't something you'd say...SORRY!)

Take care my friend. Hope to see you again soon!

You cannot assassinate Hillary's character, she is immune to such. You have to have something before you can assassinate it.

Seriously though, does anyone have any great ideas that she has come up with to save our country if elected?

Will she commit to having the troops out of Iraq by a certain time?

Will she commit on what type of foreign policy to have with China, Iran, N. Korea or Russia?

Will she commit to a balanced budget?

Will she commit to Social Security reform?

What is she willing to commit to anyway?

This is bull shit, repeated by the easily bull-shitted.

It`s called revisionist history,Merc.Just a little lesson for you.

This site  sorts all the quotes out,and will  show ya`ll how the bull-shiters, bull-shit so well.

http://www.snopes.com/politics/clintons/marxist.asp

Here`s another example of GOP bullshit, that gets repeated and goes unchalanged,by our sheepish press.

It involves Wudy misquoting Hillary.

The actual quote by Clinton.

"The unfettered free market has been the most radically disruptive force in American life in the last generation."
Which is true,ie. jobs exported, out of control trade debt,
and shrinking middle-class.

Wudy`s mis-quote:

Giuliani's assertion that Clinton "agreed with the statement, 'The unfettered free market is the most destructive force in modern America.' ... That's got to tell you her ideology, right? She agreed with that statement a few years ago."

In their coverage of the May 15 Republican presidential debate, CBSNews.com and Newsday uncritically reported former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani's assertion that Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) "agreed" "that the unfettered free market is the most disastrous thing in modern America." However, Giuliani misrepresented what Clinton said. In fact, as a May 16 Bloomberg report noted: "In a 1996 C-Span interview, Clinton said she agreed with a quote she cited [sic] her book, 'It Takes a Village' that 'The unfettered free market has been the most radically disruptive force in American life in the last generation.' Clinton also said in the interview 'that the market is the driving force behind our prosperity,' 'but that it cannot be permitted just to run roughshod over people's lives as well.'

This is the kind of crap we`ll have to wade through, for another 13 months.

I just ask that folks be aware of the under-belly tactics, that the GOP will be using, like these examples, and the BS "list of quotes", that right-wingers passing out.

Anyway....

I wonder what what a list of false.out of context,or mis-quoted statements by bush ,would sound like?lol

Actually, one only needs to quote that guy literally and in context,to make him look monstrous.lol

One "idea" she has which I don't like at all is something about "Troops being in Iraq 'till 2013."

Again, a mis quote.

She said she couldn`t honestly say they`d be out by 20/13,because she didn`t know what she`d find, after taking office.

Which is perfectly reasonable, considering the fuck up in office now.

Anyone care to guess how long it will take to repair the damage that bush has caused ,pay the debt, and get us back to where we were, 7 years ago?

7-10 years?15-20 years?

Go ahead,take your best guess.

I wish republicans would open a can of STFU!,and lay off eating GOP bull-shit,and stop drinking the cool-aid,for a while.

Owner, the Democrats were elected to get our Troops O-U-T of Iraq in 2006.
They've so far done diddly squat.
Hillary Clinton shouldn't even be talking about Troops, Iraq and 2013.
The way you get them out is you bring them home.

Precisely how should the Dems in Congress get our troops out?

Pass a law requiring it? Bush would simply veto it and the Dems do not have a veto override majority.

Simply not fund further expenditures in Iraq? Bush and the GOP have already shown their strategy for that, to use even the discussion of doing so as 'proof' that the Dems don't support the troops. Also Bush has indicated he feels it would be legal for him to divert any amount of money to the occupation if it wasn't funded and the present SCOTUS would be very unlikely to stop him.

What other power does Congress have? They could try and impeach Bush but that clearly wouldn't succeed and even if it did Cheney certainly isn't going to be for removing the troops from Iraq, he makes too much money from it to ever support ending the occupation.

Well Popeye,
The dems have put up bill after bill, either to be vetoed or filibustered,by the neo-cons.That`s on the record.

In our system,a minority can stop any legislation,if they want to.

True, the dems were voted in to get us out of Iraq, but it`s bush that`s keeping us there.

Without doing something illegal(something neo-cons have no problem with),or something extra-legal(ditto),the dems are powerless to stop the war.

Only a veto proof majority, will end the war.As it is now.bush and the neo-cons have us locked in till after bush is out of office. That is of course,if bush leaves office, voluntarily.

bush is playing this thing in the most treacherous way.Using our GIS and their welfare,as pawns.Holding them as hostages, and demanding anything, everything ,to keep them safe.
