PryderiLoup -> Mental Bondage (10/11/2007 3:27:07 PM)

Hi all.
I think this is my second post, so I will start with an introduction. Well, about me and forums anyway. lol I don't tend to post a lot, I lurk, and every once in a while I throw out a thought. Usually by the time I get to a topic, it has been hashed to death anyway, and my post would pretty much consist of  "What he said!" Or "Yeah, she's right!". I hope that when I post it will be at least original, or original to that thread anyway!

My question is about mental bondage. Does anyone know of a good site to learn about this? I have not had a lot of luck with Google. I take it making someone cum on command is mental bondage, so I have dabbled in this, but I am interested in learning more, specifically any techniques.

I read one blog that spoke about taking a vanilla partner, making her fall head over heels in love, and then turning her to BDSM. To me, this skates close to the edge on non-consent. I imagine it is easier with an unaware subject, but I like the thick ice of cold consent! ;)

Thank for the time and the forum

Pryderiloup

Why do people feel the need to invent new terms?

Mental bondage as you are using it here is what we call "training."  How do you train another person to do what you want them to do?  The answer to that is the reason you can't find anything quick and easy on google.

Actual "mental bondage" is when you say "Don't move" and they don't move.

I think this is more than that, but perhaps not more than "brainwashing". When someone is trained, they can choose thier actions, I get the sense that with mental bondage they are conditioned to respond without thought, or it takes effort not to....

Perhaps what I have heard about is really no more than brainwashing or conditioning. However, I did not "invent" the term, and always being open to learning new things, I thought I would investigate.

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: Mental Bondage (10/11/2007 6:06:41 PM)

Conditioning is another word for training.

Think of something you do without thinking in response to something else- perhaps when you hear the phone ring you immediately start to look for it.  Perhaps when you smell fresh towels it makes you breath in deeply.

Find a connection, and then build on it to form a new/different connection.  That is training at its most basic.

The actual implementation however, tends to be a lot more complex.

So you are saying that conditioning (cumming on command) is simply a deeper form of training? When does training become "brainwashing"?

Usually when it becomes nearly reflexive and effective no matter what context it's used in.

Forget cumming on command- how about making a woman REALLY feel good and believe it when she is given a compliment about how she looks?  That's a real challenge.

See my journal[:D]  I agree with you. Definitely time well spent.

Yes.

I think sometimes people just create definitions in their minds that seem to fit what they've heard. Then others who may be even more inexperienced read or hear the definition and naturally assume they have learned something, something accurate. I would caution PryderiLoup that you can't believe everything you read, especially on the Internet.

Well, that's it basically, but I tend to think of it more as bondage without ropes, requiring the person to restrain themselves entirely through their will and desire to obey - it's usually a prelude to some pretty intense torment designed to push the person to the limits of what they can endure without moving.

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: Mental Bondage (10/11/2007 9:21:07 PM)

I agree with you Six completely, I was just using that as one particular example.

So mental bondage is about putting someone in a situation where their natural incination is to move, struggle, get away, and making them endure as much as possible without moving?

This is a lot different than what I was thinking. Thnk you. This helps a lot.

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: Mental Bondage (10/11/2007 9:51:37 PM)

Think of bondage.

Now take away whatever physical thing creates the bondage, but with the same level of immobilization.

That's mental bondage.

Yes that is what I've always known it to mean. I have to say that this is my favorite form of play and it allows me to really get in touch with my core submission. When there are no restraints to keep you there, when your body is screaming at you to withdraw....you really have to go deep inside yourself to find the motivations that drive you to submit and use those to override your body's natural instincts of self preservation. To me, it's submission in it's most raw form.

I pronounce it Pry-diary loop. The first, Pryderi is welsh for caring and the second, loup, is french for wolf. My friend put this together for me because I really suck at screen names and she thought it was fitting.

This is neat. I have a weekend coming up. I have never done this for this reason... Hee hee, I love trying new things...

Feeling like a kid on Christmas morning.

Yup and it's a hell of a lot more difficult this way, although incredibly hot in my opinion.
