To all the Doms, Dommes, Masters and Mistresses out there, do you prefer your submissives or slaves to be younger or older than yourself? Does it really matter, and if it does matter, do have a reason for that?

Yes age matters. But what age is the question. I legaly married my first wife when she was 16. Some states allowed younger than that.

No, age is not an important issue with me. I own two girls. One is eleven years younger then me and the other is eleven years older then me. Their ages were not a consideration when I enslaved them.

It doesn't matter if they are older or younger, as long as they are in the age range that I prefer. Most of Mine have been younger, but My current submissive is actually a few months older than I.

But maturity is independant of age. Age gives us more opportunities to mature, but it does not force us to take them. On the other hand, the nature of some experiences forces either maturation or collapse. This too is independant of age. Age is just about how many times we've gone around the sun, and how many times we can expect/hope for in the future.

I prefer them to be mentally and physically healthy-and not overwieght. Age makes very little difference otherwise.

For me age matters, they have to be in my age range (within 5 years of my own).

Age is just a number BUT circumstances often relate to age. When someone is just starting out on their career they are often not as flexible as when they are established. Also understanding and commonality tend to be age related as well as culture related. What really matters though is that a sub has the same mindset about the lifestyle as I have. I don't stop being dominant in the relationship even when we are apart. Domination is not about 'play' although at times it is more laid back and at other times more full on.

Age does matter to me. I readily admit to being an ageist. Although I am aware that this is not always the case, my experience has taught me that people in different life stages look at things differently. A vast difference in age simply adds more roadblocks to effective communication. Additionally, I have an adult daughter. I simply can not feel attraction of any lasting value with someone in her age range.

Young or seasoned—who could not value those who rise above the bland mores of generational programming to understand who and what they really are?

I wouldn't be honest if I said that age didn't matter at all. I've found out through the years that I'm physically and mentally more attracted to men who are at least 35 years old. My man is 47. However if I were single and met the perfect guy, I wouldn't let it stop me that he was under 35

I have always been open to any age but, for whatever reason, they end up being younger.

Seein's how most everyone is younger than me, I'd have to say younger is good. I was chasing after this 65 year old hottie, but I think she's mad at me right now.

Over the years we have had slaves as much as 20 years older than us and more than 20 years younger. Age never was much of a factor in bdsm compatibility for us. However now that we are among the older folks around still focused on bdsm we think our slaves will likely be younger because almost all the potential candidates we meet are measureably younger and it is harder for a slave in his or her 60's to keep up with the physical demands of full time servitude. I prefer a submissive either younger than me or close to my age. I'm 5'3" and relatively slim. In addition to my diminutive size, I have dimples and an innocent-looking face. Since I really enjoy playing with big, hulking male subs, if they are much older as well as bigger, I have too much of a disadvantage in the dynamic. Of course, this can be overcome. It's just a lot tougher to pull off Powerful Domme with someone twice my age. I might be missing out, but...we all have our preferences.
