Agreed, if you need it, work out an arrangement to get it, even if that means getting an arrangement from someone else.

However, since people have so many different expectations and definitions of intimacy, it should be quite clearly defined. What sort of intimacy do you want? How do you want it to be expressed? How often? Where? Public? Private?

Be aware that someone might express it in a way that wouldn't occur to you to be intimacy.

And feels cold and heartless when their level is less. But I don't like to assume that someone asking for their needs to be met is being needy and demanding and disrespectful, and whatever other negative terms we could find. Because if I use those terms about someone, then they have the right to use cold, heartless, uncaring etc about me. Whereas the truth is just that our needs don't match.
