Marriage to me means monogamous and commited to one person but hey if it works for you then that is your choice. Just like it is the choice of others to live the way they want.

I think there is a problem in this conversation. And explaining it is going to sound like I am taking a really messed up and superior attitude in the discussion.

And I don't think you can have intense intimacy with someone you just met. If you can, then you are either an extremely open and generous person or extremely shallow - and you have met partners on a precisely equal footing with yourself for your nights together.

In my initial post I never said that I thought one night stands were better than or a replacement for stable relationships. I just said that they were fun and hot. How this got to be interpretted as me being a hooker, advocating only having one night stands and having intimacy issues is beyond me. It was meant to be a fun thread about having occasional (in my case about three times in my whole life...if I was a hooker I'd be somewhat unemployed) no strings attached romps.

I've had one-night stands. When I was young, confused and foolish and expected to to be more it sucked. When I was older and in graduate school and jaded and didn't want to deal with relationship issues, it was hot, albeit temporary. I doubt I would do it now, but gratuitious sex can certainly have it's place.

All i want is directions to where Alieen works. To some of the more stuck up women on here (you know who you are) It sounds like a good hard fuck would do you some good.
As for one night stands Ive had them more than a few times last one resulted in 16 years of being married

Hubby and i had a one night stand together with another woman. We had hoped it would have been more than a one night stand, but alas, i guess it wasn't meant to be. Personally, one nighters are not my thing, but, i've also been with the same man, in a committed relationship, for the past 14 1/2 years. i suppose if i didn't have Him, i might think differently

One night stands? Had a bunch of 'em when I was younger. Some turned into relationships, some didn't. Were the women sluts or whores? Not at all. Just women that thought it would be pleasant.

Some women have a sex drive as strong as a man. Does it make them less than those who want a comitted relationship?

Not in my book. We're all different. So give the girls who want something different some room.

I've been lucky, only had 2 stds. Considering the number of women I've experienced, I did OK.

What I regret are the ones I missed because I was too dumb to read their signals.
