We all have our opinions...mine was just given with tongue firmly planted in cheek.
 
What is the deal here?  I thought we were all adults!  Some like one-nighters, some think one nighters can be had several times over (with the same person), some have had 'em and think they're okay, some have had 'em and think they leave much to be desired...and some would never, ever, even consider such a thing. 
 
Aren't we interesting creatures?  But how it is a woman with a husband and a little action on the side, too can call another woman a whore cuz she has enjoyed the occasional one-night-stand is really NOT what it is all about here...now is it?

Status: offline 		oh...it occured to me I'd not actually offered my opinions on ONS.  Well, the thread has kinda lost it's flavor for me.  Aileen offers a lot of fun stuff to consider...why it is some people have to rain on her parade is beyond me.
 
Personally, I think Aileen offers a lot to this community...which I think is generally regarded as a place to share thoughts and ideas; not to play oneupsmanship.

Status: offline 		Nope, never had a one night stand....and doubt I ever will, just not my thing.  I, too, need intimacy that I don't think I could cultivate in a single night; and if I did, I'd hate that it was so temporary and that I could never have it again.  Would be like being introduced to a wonderful brand of chocolate that I knew from the outset I'd never get to taste again.  For me, I'd prefer never to have nibbled.   That said, for the people that enjoy it and are not hurting anyone- I'm envious!  *L*

Why is it that to have a one night stand suggests anybody is being used, or disposable?  If both parties go into it knowing that's what it is- and both get what they came for in a mutually consenting night together; where's the problem?  There's a huge difference between knowing something is not right for ~me~, and judging another's preference for it.

I didn’t mention anything about lying to myself or other people. I merely pointed out that when not in a relationship a one nightstand could include elements that you’d normally be weighed down with discussion with, if in a relationship. An example of this would be the inclusion of a third sexual partner; in a relationship you’d have to discuss it but with a one nightstand it could just freely happen without discussion.
