Bondagenexus -> No limits - and what it really means (10/16/2007 8:05:47 AM)

This was sparked by a conversation in the poly section.  Someone posted that they choose to have no limits.  This sounded to me like a very informed and freely made choice... and it was music to my ears.

And it's not that I wouldn't respect limits, hard or otherwise.  Even with a no-limit agreement I would still tend to honor strong preferences.  Perhaps I'm a bit of a softy as a master but that said...

My darker side is occasionally drawn to push for things I really want, and to push harder if the bottom does not want what I'm after.  Notice I said bottom and not submissive.  I've not had a relationship (other than scening) with a true submissive yet.

So I feel like I'm in a bit of a quandary.  If my submissive has hard limits around her work or her kids or whatever reasonable negotiated boundary, I totally get that I'll respect that and at the same time I want her to totally trust me if it looks like I want to mess with those limits.

Am I a potentially bad Dom? Just living in the wrong era? :)

To my way of thinking, a limit is a limit.  You can always bring the subject up to see if, perhaps, I've changed my mind about it or I may be willing to explore a bit.  But, if you accept my limits, then you need to respect them.  You say that you will, but you want to mess with them?  Sounds somewhat contradictory to me.  Mess how?

RRafe -> RE: No limits - and what it really means (10/16/2007 8:13:33 AM)

Limits are always a big issue-just avoid people with ones you know will frustrate you.

Then you have no limits that MATTER, and everyone is happy.

crouchingtigress -> RE: No limits - and what it really means (10/16/2007 8:14:29 AM)

youll know when you are in that time and space...all you have is this moment right now, and imo, you (not singular) waste it by spending time in a future that is fluid and scripted by varriables as seemingly inert as butterfly sneezes.

speaking of wasting moments...man i got to get in the studio...cya

It means...

I am either going to read a thread full of people making fun of you for using the
"T-word"...

or...

You have just began another Collarme.com voyage into the world of No-Limit discussions where logic, reality, and rationality have no bearing and a whole lot of supposedly mature adults begin to entertain ideas of absurd silliness that have no bearing off the Internet.

Edited to Add : Oh wait...wait....

Nevermind

Bobs gone. This might not be that bad

crouchingtigress -> RE: No limits - and what it really means (10/16/2007 8:21:31 AM)

toservez -> RE: No limits - and what it really means (10/16/2007 8:21:59 AM)

I will jump into the water but then get out quickly.

No limits is generally two things.

1) People who are delusional and get carried away typing in cyber space promoting unrealistic manifestos. Often known to quote one definition out of a dictionary for what a slave is to believe as an absolute fact.

2) People in real time over romanticizing their relationship by stating this. What they are just actually saying is my limits line up with my other and/or I have yet to encounter something or admit to others or myself that something is a limit since it will never be brought up by my other again.

So who wants to in on a pool as to how many pages this thread will go?..and at the end nothing will be solved, no answers gained, it will be a circle jerk of name calling, veiled threats, cliff diving, bank robbery, murder, and someone ordering someone to jump out of an airplane with nothing but a tiki glass and a cocktail umbrella...will they obey or will choose door number 2?

chellekitty -> RE: No limits - and what it really means (10/16/2007 8:24:17 AM)

IamJustMe2C -> RE: No limits - and what it really means (10/16/2007 8:27:01 AM)

Limits are limits and they should be respected with that said I once had someone come to me and say that they were  a true slave and as a true slave they had no limits what so ever and I could do with them as I wished. This perked me up and I wanted to prove to them that as a human being we all have limits. So I went to the garage and got out the chain saw. Brought it back into the house and told her that she wast to put her had on the table and leave it there. She thought I was just going to give her a mind fuck untill I started up the chain saw adn brought it twards her hand. I was no wear near her had and I did this on purpous and ruined a good kitchen table but she never said she had no limits again. She also called me many names as she ran screaming from the house but it did teach her a lesson. NEVER SAY I HAVE NO LIMITS.
Besides it can be fun to play with soft limits just stay away from the hard ones.
and ladies heres a pillow for you to sit on while you rock in the corner and a blancket to cover your self with I would hate for you to get cold.

Okay, I am laughing my ass off!  Obviously I've either struck a nerve or missed some damn good posts in the past.  Sixteen replies in ten minutes?  What am I, a rock star?
