OK, I always thought I was pretty good at this online thing... but I guess im more clueless than I wanted to believe.
How it is I cant find Yahoo groups for BDSM in my area? Am I doing this wrong?
Are there really none to be had?
I want to see if I can find a munch in the area, even within a ways, but I cant seem to find squat.

Any hints on what I might try searching for, that would help me find what I want?

Any help would be appreciated, I am just getting frusterated, and searching frusterated means I wont find anything at all.

I just applied to the local(ist) yahoo group & was denied.

I don't know about where you are, but here the Yahoo groups for our local community are by membership only and won't show up on a normal search.  I had to google bdsm-city to find the website for our local group then go through it that way.

The way Yahoo dumbs groups is terrible. i have tried to look up groups and i would never get a reasonable response.

As one who runs a yahoo group on BDSM there are any number of reasons why you might be denied membership to the group. One of the things most people do not have on their profile is their age. Without an age on the profile the moderator/owner of the list is taking a huge chance on allowing you into the group. There are others as well.

Just my thoughts.........

I don't know if this helps but it seems you are in Nashville, TN here are a few links.  I can't vouch for their bein current and active groups, but hope this helps.

Hello I live in the area and would love to get out and meet people. I am a 42 year old woman who has been divorced 2 years and I'm interested in meeting people in the local scene.

Curiously, what other screening methods are used? The next time [if..] I apply I could use the tips. Heh I had no idea I had to pass a test in 250 words or less!

same as here they want an age on your yahoo profile.  Means you gotta have one filled out.

I have to admit it felt pretty discouraging, here is the email. Ack I hope its okay to post??

And here I am, just moved from Nashville, TN to Sarasota FL for school. I wasn't able to get involved with the local scene but I didn't have time for it at that point in my life. I unfortunately deleted my links to some Nashville groups I was interested in but I remember the names Darke and Manor was in the title for some reason.

I'll be back in town for the holidays though..

I'll openly admit to being completely cluelss usually.  But come on now, I can program for myself, but I cant convince yahoo to give me anything?
Now that Fox and I are together and he enjoys being actually active in the local stuff, I am hoping to find a few.  When it was just Angel and I, we were behind closed doors only, so it never mattered.

Several years ago Yahoo made all BDSM groups hidden, they do not show up in search.  There are some BDSM websites out there that had the hidden list of yahoo groups but I don't recall what they are. I'd try googling it.

If you dont have your age on your Yahoo profile they will deny you access. Might want to check it out.

Nashville has a wonderful community which I am a part of and am more than happy to point anyone in the direction to get involved...I do post all of our local events in the "up coming events" section of the forums every week..

We not only have a 2 local munches every month but also a wondeful club called " The Mark"  which offers a social and safe place space for the kinky locals here in Nashville as well as educational and safety classes almost every month ranging from our most recent Puppy class to our last Shibari class last month.

We get in speakers and guests from all across the country. We do have a yahoo group and anyone is more than welcome to sign up and get involved and recieve the weekly events emailed to you and also just listen in to what ever may be on the chopping block of discussion for the day.

Anyone can feel free to email me off list to know more about a munch...the group...the club...whatever you may be looking for to meet new friends in the community.
