Whenever I think of Deborah Kerr, I think of the mother of a lover of mine, when I was in my teens. She was kind enough to welcome me as family, and take a motherly, older woman to younger woman's mentor role with me, in a nonjudgmental way. She and I and a woman who was, in turn, her mentor, were talking about Deborah Kerr, and the film, Night of the Iguanas. She admired Deborah Kerr, and identified with her, saying that she would play the role Ms. Kerr did. So, when I think of Ms. Kerr, I think of both of them. Ms. Kerr had great range in her acting, and great power of presence. Bless her.
