I never thought of that. Meaning more of "I don't take notice of it". It fits my pet switch though.. he likes to bottom but doesn't like to submit.

Although I agree that it would be nice if there were the additional categories of top and bottom, I honestly believe that there are so many people who find a site like collarme and haven't the first clue as to what everything may involve or not involve. I am pretty specific in My profile, but I get emails from people all the time who are obvious bottoms looking for a play partner only and oblivious to My clearly written words.
Education is the key. We need to specify what the various orientations involve and then encourage people to really read profiles.
A designation for no cyber? I am not sure it would work, but you can try. I still get chat requests by email as well as the "chat invites" all the time. I have written it in My profile, and I respond to email stating no chat. Yet I will hear from the same people a week, a month or 3 months later! *shrug* There will always be those who are not going to pay attention, and refuse to respect the written preferences of others.
That said, having the categories available might make it easier for some and I think it would be nice to offer the option.

I agree that it would be easier to have tops and bottoms, instead of simply dominants and submissives, since plenty of folk have no desire for a power exchange or authority transfer dynamic outside of playtime. M

This really is a great idea; it would save alot of explanation later.... and it would really curtail the "you must not be a real submissive" comments that abound when telling someone what you are into.

I think that we need more choices in general.

Top, Bottom, unowned, owned submissive, owned slave(diffrent things for diffrent people), switch looking for play, just looking for friends (why does it mater what your role is when you just want kinky friends) Master, Mistress (diffrent then dom or domme). Stuff like that.

Or better yet, just let people fill in the blank for them selves... why do we need t choose from a list... offically I am my Masters Retainer, not a sub or slave but still in service to him. Why shouldn't I be able to put Retainer as my orentation and role?

Yes, I agree there should be one for bottoms, but then there should be one for tops as well.
And pansexual is my favorite (though it is so misused) and because it's misused, then I would love to see one that said queer as many who play with same sex partners don't consider themselves, bi, gay or lesbian...

See where all that can lead?

I wholeheartedly agree. There should be a "bottom" and a "top" category. The current categories of only sub and domme simply leave the SM out of BDSM and make it all D/s.

Let's get categories that reflect the reality for many of us.
