I have been on the skyway bridge. When we were there for vacation last month. A jump from there would do you in.

That sounds overly complicated to me. All you really need is some sedatives, a couple of wires and timer plug. Write a note if you can be bothered.

As agirl pointed out, threatening to kill oneself after four weeks is hinky. Personally I think his announcement is utter bullshit and you'd be well to stop communicating. But on the off chance I'm wrong, the best adice I've read sofar is:

1) Tell him to see a therapist;

2) Communicate your fears to the authorities.

3) Stop communicating with him.

Call the local police, tell them what he's told you and give them any information you have about him ie. phone number.  Change your phone number and don't look back.  He may be a very good person, but he clearly has issues that are not for you to solve. 
If indeed he's serious about killing himself, IMO the right thing to do is contact the appropriate authorities.... again, that's just what I would do. 

Besides, unless you're a trained professional that deals with suicide, you're not in a position to give him the help he needs.

I was put in this position once myself with an ex vanilla partner who I had been seeing several months longer, truly the best thing you can do is call the police and let them handle, you really do not need to be involved with someone that is mentally unstable it could also be a trap to lure you in. Best to avoid him altogether from here on  in

that smacks of low self esteem on his part.....he is feeling less than adequate.  it is very sad on his part,  to be so hopeless.   you need to run in the opposite direction as fast as you can.

I agree...sometimes I often wonder what happened?..the outcome can also be a good learning tool for all...I once had a man threaten suicide..it totally peeved me off, made any regard or feelings I had for him dissipate in 5.2 seconds flat..and I informed him that I would not attend his funeral as I would be busy that day getting a manicure/pedicure....cold?...absolutely!..I felt utterly cold and detached from him .....I have often wondered if that makes me an absolutee betch or not....Tempting....BTW he did not do it...

I had this happened with the F half of a couple we were with while we were active in swinging.  We'd be together about 6 months and one night she calls and tells me she has taken an entire bottle of pills and then hangs up.  I called the police and gave them her address and called her husband at work.  Meanwhile she called back on my husbands cell and he kept her talking until the police/paramedics got there. 

About an hour later he's on line and IM's me telling me thanks and wants to know if we want to chat w/her.  WTF???  I cut the ties then and there.

I now have a new rule for myself about reading or posting to threads on the message board.... in the future I will read the OPs profile before continueing to read or post ..and if it has disappeared I will assume it is a fake posted only to garner attention, and not waste any more time or thought on it.

Are there really people this naive. Hmm he suddenly demands you show up at his place in the middle of the night with a broken leg. And it doesn't occur to the op that the reason he's now trying so hard to get her there is because she won't be able to run away when he tells her what he wants her to do.

Go move back home, ask mom for a curfew, listen to her advice on how to meet a nice boy.
