Oh...kay.

So how does this apply to those of us who aren't, ya know, callous blowhards with a little paunch? Not all young subs are jerks, and not all of us are looking exclusively for an older woman. But the things about experience and wisdom being attractive...Those can go for men as well as for women.

It's obviously not everyone's cuppa, but is there something inherently wrong with a younger submissive man being attracted to and seeking an older Dominant woman? Am I misreading the thread?

The whole "read'm and weep" tag at the end seems a little needlessly vindictive, too.

*goes to play Pokemon on his DS, thereby nullifying all statements he just made*

I apparently am coming to this thread very late, but as it looks like its been revived, I am stopping at this comment(#2) to make mine.

Aidan, if he nailed it, he nailed it for LotusSong.  Do not assume that speaks for all of us.  I have had younger and older subs, the age is not the defining factor, the maturity level is.

In your particular case especially, and in a few other younger males on these boards, if I were you I would not worry.  For those that prefer older only, there are as many of us, that when we find those rare gems, do not care what their age is.(Hell, good ones like you are hard enough to find, no matter what the age, smiles).  I enjoy your posts, and know many others do also, and would think that you would not have a hard time meeting people here.

edited to add:  saw the disclaimer later about the read em and weep statement.  Everything else I said I still think, smiles.

I also wanted to add not all of us are looking for sex in the dynamic, so experience levels there are irrelevant to some of us.

Awww, kc. You're making me blush.

Trust me, I know that it wasn't meant to be the will of all Dommes. I'll admit, anything to do with age being a factor of worth or validity as a submissive makes me prickly, even if it doesn't apply to me. I feel like I work pretty hard to provide a good example and break stereotypes of what a young submissive is, and that can make me a little over-zealous at times.

Reading Lotus' follow-up post, I actually agree with what the intention of the thread was. It's aidan-approved now. ;)

Age is something that honestly doesn't matter to me to a degree.  Compatability matters.  My Owner and I are 10 years apart, but you'd never really notice that if you'd listen to us talk.  We can follow one another's conversations.  We have similar interests and similar levels of maturity.  We just mesh well.  I didn't meet her because she was 10 years my senior, or because I wanted a Domme...  I met her because she wanted some company one day while she was taking pictures in a park.  We met as friends with no ulterior motives.  She became my Owner because of our compatability was so amazing that we just kind of fell into our places rather naturally.  Now that I think about it...there are even a positive or two to the age difference.  The most signifigant one being she has real experience in the lifestyle.  I can learn things from her just by listening to stories about her experiences in life, work, and the lifestyle.  If I'd found somebody my own age, just starting out, there would be a lot of stuff that she'd likely not be aware of or able to do properly.  Some 20 year olds do have the experience, I'm sure...but I doubt it's very many.  Still...if I'd found somebody compatable...I would have likely tried to pursue a relationship.  Like I said, I go by compatability.

The only drawback to the age difference is that we are indeed at different parts of our lives.  I have no doubt that this will lead to schedule conflictions and a bit of frustration at times.  However, as long as we continue to communicate openly and honestly, such things can be overcome.

I'm 49 and often get approached by submales 20-35.  I never even truly consider them as being sincere.  It might not be fair, but there it is.  I don't even bother to read their emails or reply to their inquiries whether here at CM or other sites.

When I spend quality time with a submale outside of the BDSM session, I want to converse about politics, economics, literature and entertainment, music, and go to a few social events that I find of interest.

I just can't see spending any time with someone who can name the Spice Girls but who can't give Me any opinion of Eric Clapton's latest come back recording.

Ditto movie stars, actors, entertainers:  I don't follow J Lo's life events and can't name a single male actor who's been around for any less time than Matt Damon - that's just about the youngest actor that I keep track of.  If the sub can't relate to the icons of My era, I probably can't relate to the icons of his era, either.

It's a charge to share the same interests in cuisine, current events, politics, music, art, business, economics, intelligent and meaningful discourse is a must for me.

I'm not saying that a young male sub cannot engage in meaningful dialogue about these things from his perspective, I'm just saying that I have no frame of reference for his mile markers, and he has no frame of reference for mine.

If that's selling a young sub short, so be it.

Give Me a man within 6 to 10 years of My own age, either direction.  Old dogs can, and do, learn new tricks!

I think a 'trophy sub' would probably bore Me to death.  ; )

That said, it is of importance to me that the sub be virile - having been previously  involved with an ED afflicited sub, it's been a joy to find a sub my own age who's rutting like a teenager all the time.  What a great mix!  Mental and spiritual maturity with physical and psychological exuberance and playfulness.....  Now THAT's a turn-on!

I love the new cadillac ad on TV:  "....the question is,  when you get in your car and turn it on, does it return the favor?".....lolol

"When you get the room and turn your sub on, does he return the favor?"

That sounds like a new Mantra, I think I'll keep it.

Thanks manthing, if you're reading!  Mmmmmuuuuaaaah!

OK, that is extremely offensive and stereotypical. Just because all you see are dumb little idiots with no clue of the world around them, doesnt mean thats all theyre are.

But, like the typical middle ager, you cant see that. You cant see beyond what the media is pushing, or the little paradigm you hold as truth. Indeed, it is YOU that are blind.

OK, Im gonna take a stand here, for myself and other young male subs. True, I dont make as much money as a middle aged man, but enough to get by week to week. Also, a younger sub is much easier to influence and train, while older ones may be more set in their ways.

It seems that younger subs are thought to be less useful around the house. In my case, not so! I can cook, clean, I have basic home repair and auto matenince skills. Im sure as well that many other young subs have similar, if not better, uses.

Another thing Ive often heard is that, especially with men, young subs are too agressive. Personally, I know that my anger, and everything that just makes me sick, goes into my music. Anger and agression are not bad things, if given the proper outlets.

Just my .02

I can't see myself with a sub the same age or younger then my son and daughter.

In many cultures, younger women traditionally are drawn to older men for a variety of reasons:

Firstly, it is believed that age usually equates with wisdom, something venerated in both eastern and oriental cultures. The view of beer bellies not being attractive is only so in a few cultures. In the Orient, the large belly is a sign of spiritual power. Ever see a Buddah with a six pack instrad of a large belly?

But where does this leave older subs without beer bellies? ...

it leaves you with more American Dommes!! as they're not likely to follow oriental cultures very well

and a reply to texas Maam, I am so sorry you feel that way, You are causing yourself to miss out ALOT on what you could have in your life. I guess to each their own applies here.

The ignorance abounding in this thread about young people is a direct result of the exuberant ignorance proclaimed by some of our older members.

And sometimes there are ignorant young posters that try to unconvincingly astound the more mature members with their supposed self proclaimed intelligence by trying to use the entire extent of their meager vocabulary.  That same self absorbed deluded poster would have the possibility of causing negativity concerning young posters at large, if anyone were to hold that poster in any regard or indicative of posters that age in general.

And that is your choice. I just get a tad sick of seeing people my age get shit because we're thought of as inferior some how.

FR to the OP:

I never posted to this thread as I couldn't find a way to say that pretty much everything you say there is bs in my opinion.  The only reason I generally look for someone around my age is that we have more in common and as I want an ltr conversation and companionship is important.

Whether they have money, a beer belly or some absurd assumption that they will be better in bed because of age have nothing to do with my personal preferences.  Prowess is mostly about attitude, not age.  In fact, given my libido, a younger male would be more likely to be fulfilling if one wanted to apply stereotypes.  There are plenty of younger male Dom/subs that post here that are intelligent, well-spoken, positive attractive men that I would probably consider if they didn't live so damn far away despite that fact that they are younger.  However, as I have stated before, WAY younger just would never feel right to me regardless of their attributes.

As I stated before, not all of us think that all of you are inferior(although some do give you a bad rap.)  I know some  that I have talked to have a squick factor concerning ages of their children because, well because...(age play, associating things with your grown UM's etc)  I can understand that, although that does not come into play personally.

What younger subs lack in experience, they make up in enthusiasm.  I think compatibility is what matters above all, young or old, but I am generally attracted to younger subs.  I think young subs get a bad rap.  I think the are a little easier to re-train, or train from the start.  I think they can act mature beyond their years if given a chance.  Now ignorance is another thing - but I would not tolerate that in an older submissive, either.

One of the other things I like about younger subs is how much they appreciate my time and energy. I get some warm responses and enthusiasm when I send younger subs gifts or toys to use on them.  Older subs who have money think they can run the show if they own the goods.  Or, they think I can be bought. Oddly, they seem to like to brag about their wealth but never do anything with it -- whereas young subs will find a way to squeeze out generosity from a dollar greeting card or a homemade gift.  And they are honestly blown away when a woman not only takes control but wants to pay!

I'm reminded of the old bull - young bull story. The young bull sees a herd of cows and says "let's run down there and grab one of them cows and fuck one of them. The old bull says 'let's walk down and fuck them all'

When i was younger i wanted to do everything all at once. Now that i'm older, i'll settle for one at a time
