I just feel very curious about something I've noticed a lot of lately. And though I know, most of you who post here seem very tolerant, and not too single-minded, or at least don't post opinions on more controversial topics.... it does seem that many people I've met who feel that they are a sub/slave or a Dom/me..... feel like the world should be lead by men, or by women, depending which sex and position they are. How many of you also would change the world to center around your D/s position, if humanly possible? (e.g. you're a male subbie, and you think that all women should be Dommes, it's the most natural, and you wish all men were treated as property, or any other possible variant). Thanks!

I believe that forcing a certain way on people is sexist. If a woman wants to be in charge of her relationship and she finds guys willing to let her, not my place to complain. If a guy wants to control his, finds one or more ladies that are willing, I don't see the problem. I think that forcing one or the other or one form of femininity/masculinity is sexist, oppressive, and wrong, but that's just my values.

Personaly I think we should have temperance in all things.. far too long have we been out of balance. Both males and females should strive for excelence... both should care for the children.. both should care for the home.... Both can be Dom/me or submissive... it is too individual to be fostered apon just one gender. Egads dont let the Goreans see this topic though. chuckles ( just kidding) Yeppers.. that is my stance.. Well, I'm from Uranus, and I'm a bisexual submissive, so either/or works for me. Not that it has to be sexual you understand. Oh who am I kidding, I want it all. chia* (the pet)

I enjoy the differences in people and think life would be boring if everyone thought and lived the same way. I know of some folks who believe in "Natural Order" in which men are naturally dominant. I also know of some folks who believe in female supremacy, in which women are goddesses and dominant over men. Which is right? Both? Neither? I rather enjoy understanding all the different dynamics and what they mean to people. I can only live as I am, true to myself, and I encourage others to do the same - be true to themselves, whatever that might mean for them (unless of course that means being a mass murderer, etc.). Each human spirit is unique. Saying everyone should be the same...well I think Hitler tried something like that. Once we start dictating who is dominant and who is submissive, do we then dictate sexual orientation? Religion? What else? Diversity isn't such a bad thing :)

The older I get, the less I know, about most everything; but, one thing I have found, is that qualities, both good and bad, know no gender boundaries. And, it is no less a form of bigotry to say all (men/women) are ________________ (fill in the blank). It's lazy non-thinking.

greetings hermione, i think making the whole world surround my male d/female s dynamic would just be boring ;) but i have thought quite a bit about the idea of male supremacy or female submission being the natural order. part of me finds it attractive in the sense of being submissive on some level to all men, but for the most part and on a more widespread level i just think it's unrealistic and ultimately would remove a lot of fun from the world. on top of that, i actually was struggling with how to relate to people for awhile due to this very issue, and brought it up to my master - he is very adamant that submission is a choice, not a function of some natural order that applies to all men and all women, and also respects female domination, so that informs my beliefs as well. respectfully, annabelle.

I do have specific qualities and qualifications that I look for in that person >>> gender specific doesn't come into play tho'. Some of those qualities and qualifications do have to do with leadership ability, self-control, life experience, a more dominant personality. But those can be found in both genders. To say that men should rule and women nurture, would be seriously stereotyping of me. ... even tho' I am attracted sexually to a dominant male, and my preference in a relationship is one in which the male is the one in control and in authority>>that has nothing to do with my politics or world peace... Ultimately power corrupts. I think a female GWB would be worse than a male GWB. I also think women in power working with othe women in power is generally a recipe for disaster.

I believe that "supremacy" based upon any individual accident of birth (ie: gender supremacy, race supremacy, etc.) is ridiculous, in the same way that discrimination based upon those accidents of birth is offensive. John

Ok... I'll take that premise - but only if my Master can be the king of the world (oh wait - the title of this thread is Mars vs Venus - better make that the emperor of the universe) cause he's the only person I'm answering to. Beyond that, male or female, those who are in positions of authority over me better damn well know what they're doing - regardless of gender. If not, I'd better be getting a darn good paycheck for listening to them when otherwise, I'd be considering them idiots. juliet

I don't believe in Female Supremacy any more than I believe in Male Supremacy. I think many of the problems we have in the world today are a result of Male Supremacy but it's not the men that are the problem, it's the lack of balance. I think in the long run the men and women will all be happier when there is a better balance between the two kinds of energy. In the past men have REALLY gone overboard with expectations of "manliness" and painted themselves into a corner. I don't think the world would be a better place by replacing the problem of Male Supremacy with Female Supremacy. It would just be trading one problem for another of a different type.
