Do we as submissives unknowingly give dominants information that they store away for future use to torture us with?

As a dominant, do you file away little tidbits that get shared through the normal course of conversation? Things that make you go AHA!, I'm going to remember that!

yeah i think in some cases we all do it whether we realize it or not.  Whether or not the other person uses it, is soley up to them.

Now what would give you that impression?  (makes note to self... be very careful, she's catching on).

I used to do it accidentally ... until I caught on. Now I do it on purpose. ~good-natured grin~

Empathy is a cruel weapon, and an artful top will lead you down the garden path in the most delightfully innocent ways.....you will let things slip-and he will keep changing the subject-making it hard to keep track of what he is after. And he will not let on-that you are dancing his dance-not yours.

All the while the gears will be turning, information-stored.

My Sirs best friend is really awful about remembering little things. I always have to be very careful what I do or say around him, because he will pipe up with something I said two years ago while I was drunk and use it against me at the most inoportune moments.....(yea, I know I spelled that wrong, get over it)

You know, even when you think you have your guards up....the most innocent things.....

I once made mention during a conversation that I never buy eggs in those cardboard egg cartons. The feeling of that cardboard gives me the heebeejeebies in the worst way. Kind of like nails on a black board. I just can not touch the stuff. How could I know that would spark an idea in his mind for a spanking bench covered in egg crate cardboard?

You dominants are just twisted and wrong!

Now that Stephan knows exactly how much I hate ketchup I'm having nightmares of things like detchup enemas.

Seriously though, if a dominant couldn't use info that he learns about you to get inside your head and manipulate you, he wouldn't be much of a dominant would he? This is everything from whether bondage puts you in a happy giggly headspace, or a deeply objectified headspace, or what other circumstances influence that.  It is his job to know you and use all that information "against" you, in the best of ways ;)

I take great joy in extracting information for future use!  It could be in my top five favorite things to do.  But then, even when cringing, my submissive loves it and pleases me ever so much by coming back for more.  It does create a vicious cycle though... one that must be fed constantly.  Damn a 24 hour day and life demands!

Heck, I'm not a dominant and I do that.

When we first started talking, FirmhandKY would off-handedly mention some piece of information that revealed a preference during a conversation, and I made a mental note.  Things like what kind of beer he drinks, what kind of soap he likes... anything that I felt might be useful to know in order to make his life more comfortable... I have in a file.

I pretty much know his preferences now or can give a good guess, so my "radar" is always on the lookout for things I can do to please him or gifts ideas.  It's made it easy to decide what to get him for Christmas.  Plus it thrills me to surprise him and put a smile on his face.

But shhhhh... don't tell him.

Of course I do.

What else would make a submissive think I must be magically able to read his mind because I can't honestly do either.

I try not to forget anything I'm told and in fact I'll write things down and review notes occasionally.

I do that with everyone... I'm spectacular at remembering tiny details people give. Unfortunately, I'm really bad at more important things- names, birthdays, etcetera.

But I've found if you can remember some really minor detail someone gave you, they think you were really paying attention, even if you weren't. And if that minor detail happens to be exploitable... well, that's a bonus.

Unknowingly?  Probably.  We all give information away about ourselves simply by being.  However, I also knowingly gave him (and continue to give him) tons of information that he can later use on me.  How else can he know me well enough to manage me as he does?

This used to be rather difficult for me, coming from a manipulative mother who mis-used information.  The question here is, does the dom use the information wisely, or does he misuse it?

Edited to add:  I just saw the "torture" part of your post.  Not sure how I missed that!!  But yes, he uses information to torture me with too, hahaha.  He knows all my triggers, and when to push each one.
