Status: offline 		for me it's silence...I want the total concentration to be focused on me and what's being done...I can't see blindfolding and whispering in her ear...I wonder what I'll take off the wall...just to try to reconize it from the sound...or how about having her just listening you you as you walk around her...her eyes closed...sensing your movements...hearing your footsteps...all the other things that sound produces from just your interaction....music and sex..different...but music and sceneing...it takes away more that it give for me...

Status: offline 		Sometimes music CAN be distracting. Not to long ago, Dave Sir and I had the chance to go to a party. The girl put something on the computer that was pop music or something. I'm not sure. Though Sir didn't "flog" me to the beat of the music, I kept dancing my toes or humming along with the song.

Now when Sir puts in the Alan Parsons project CD that is the Raven.. OMG I just melt and am like 'OKAY!" I can't always anticipate what He's going to do though which is awesome experience.

Status: offline 		completely depends on the mood, for me. sometimes silence, sometimes sound effects, various music types...

speaking purely of music, it does vary quite a bit. sometimes trancey, flowing sounds like the second Enigma album style... sometimes intense techno beats (not the annoying repetitives.. at least not those that we find to be), sexy bass or funk types of music, industrial, or just pleasing popular music (thinking on it, Bjork's "Pleasure is all Mine" is one i may ask to have used sometime in the mix).

some classical works would be divine, thinking on it. don't know why neither of us haven't brought it up! thanks for getting my wheels turning, will mention that to the SO. seems that should've come to mind among the first!

Status: offline 		I love to have music in almost every aspect of my life, and during a scene is no different. My tastes are eclectic, but I've enjoyed a good part of the work mentioned so far. I can play to Enigma forever, whether I'm top or bottom. Lords of Acid makes me want to flog someone 'til my arm falls off.

But someone mentioned classical?

If you've never played to Chopin, give it a go. Maybe start off gentle with some Vivaldi (The 4 Seasons is easy to find, and easy to enjoy...even for non-classical folks), but when you're ready to get things going, hit Chopin and try to match the energy that man put into his compositions.

I do, by the way, agree with Fury that there are times when NOTHING is as hot as silence, especially when the sub is blindfolded and every other sense is so amplified. The sound of a knife blade snicking open... the whisper of a doeskin flogger being lifted from the table... and the rapid, terrified breathing of my Kat trying to figure out what is coming next... Ahhh. Now those are a few of MY favorite things.

Status: offline 		music is good, but radio, oh dear that can be a problem, in the middel of the action you sudderly hear two teenagers, a boy and a girl begin to talk aboute their dating habits, and whatever or not they prefer blonds. i did not know if i should luagh or cry.

Status: offline 		What a good question!! Have to have music during play. Doesn't matter if it is a scene at the dungeon or private play at my Sirs or my house. We love Industrial Goth.... the last play scene I had was Wednesday night with my Sir and his best friend at his friends house and we played to "Android Lust." Of course I can't remember the songs ( I fly hard and fast with pain) but I remember the music being perfect. I couldn't imagine playing in silence.... the music is never loud enough so you can't hear me moan, cuss or scream. Yummy!

Status: offline 		I use music to help create an atmosphere in most things I do, be it working in a Wiccan Circle, Shamanic meditations, Lodge workings, writing, studying and just relaxing. Mostly I use either Celtic Music or various clasical pieces ranging from Sibelius (Icelandia) to Bach (Organ pieces), Wagner and the Gipsy Violin pieces (probably relates to the latent vampyre in me lol)

The soundtrack to Shrek has been done. Several times through, in fact. It's fabulous for an active and highly rhythmic caning session. While I agree with others that silence (or simply the natural sounds of response) are highly stimulating, I do like laughter as well as squeals when I scene, and the Shrek CD made me smile, laugh and contributed a lot of positive and fun energy to the occasion. That's worth much more than simply going with something dignified to save face.

Chicken Run? I'll have to pull out the DVD. I had not even considered the music from that as playtime ambience.

Status: offline 		Music is a big part of our scenes. I find my thoughts and body rythms flow with the beats. Because of that we have a CD that we've made. It has GodSmack's Voodoo, Garbage, Moby, Sting, Dead Can Dance, Enigma, Joe Satriani, etc. It's an hour and a half long.

Because we use the CD so much, just playing it will start me on my way to sub space.

*rummages* Chicken Run... hmm. It actually sounds a little upbeat when I listen to it, I'm not sure it would go too well - I was just throwing out names from kiddie movies as examples rather than thinking about it. Antz, on the other hand, would be non-intrusive and still have good energy. Steamboy, too... Steamboy would do really well.

I wouldn't be able to say anything about "real" jazz, but I will say that you'll do well with any Cowboy Bebop soundtrack (there are about a dozen of 'em out there). Unique beats, damn good... is there any sound Yoko Kanno cannot master? I say to you, there is not!

I have done a lot of reaseach either. Master's favorite is 15 Sade Cherish The Day....usually He puts the tv on the digital music station..no commercials, the screeen on tv is blank and all we here is the music .. I have been downloading some Smooth Jazz i heard on launcast though and am making a cd of my favorites for Him .He only uses this for soft play though. For more intense scenes there is usually no music. ( I loose focus too easily) lol

Status: offline 		I myself ( if i had a choice) would be Marvin Gaye , the Rightoues Bros. anything slow and romantic. although not always easy to scene to the beat is very nice and relaxing for forplay music.

On another note, when I was at the play party a couple weeks ago, everyone could tell by the Enigma playing that a certain person was scening. Apparently, he plays it a lot.
