Subs have to walk a fine line between proactive and being pushy or annoying.  They also walk a fine line between being "open" to something, being helpful, vs being a pushy bottom.

And who the fuck are you to say what line subs have to walk? Who elected you the spokesperson for this community? What gives you the authority to mandate the conduct of a large segment of this community, people you have never even met?

I was going to reply, but then I realized, your own words say enough.  Have fun!

I don't think Akasha needs anyone to come to her defense as she's quite capable of defending herself, but I have to say that I interpreted what she wrote as simply an observation, not a mandate for how subs should conduct themselves.  In my personal experience, it very often is indeed a fine line we have to walk between being submissive to our Mistresses and pushing our own agendas.  How one does this takes a fair amount of communications skills, selective timing, proper attitude, and a few other things that are difficult to describe which are often specific to one's dynamic with their Mistress.

When the OP made that claim, he was denounced. How dare anyone make generalizations about women!? That's a territory that's sacred!

But bitch about "radioactive" subs, and we get a chorus of voices chiming in to compile a laundry list of faults, all of them males. Aren't there any female subs who aren't perfect? Is "radioactive" synonymous with "male?" What sexists are supporting this concept?

Let's examine both concepts.  The first one was "all dommes are looking for the same thing."  The second one was "some subs are polite and attractive, and some subs are rude, pushy and downright scary."

Can't see the difference?  This site may be helpful if you want to avoid embarrassing yourself any further here.

Whoa whoa whoa, let's keep this sophisticated.

While I'm certainly not going to step up for Akasha, I don't believe anyone here purports her as the "spokesman" of the community.  I think once you have read a lot of her posts, or ever met her or met people that have a substantial relationship with me, you'll understand where a lot of her inspiration comes from.

And for what it's worth, what little you didn't say but were thinking, a lot of people agree with you.

The problem with the `all dommes want the same guy' thread is that it was a generalization, not specifically that it was about women.  Nobody here has attempted to generalize from their bad experiences with specific subs (usually, but not always male subs) to say that all male subs or all subs are obnoxious.  Can you not see the distinction?

Hammerthrower's screen name suits him.  He comes across as a very bitter angry man.  That's a shame.  Nothing like taking what was a lighthearted thread and turning it into a drama.

This thread showed examples of GOOD AND BAD things.... He just wants to focus on the bad.  What a shame.

Thank you for starting this thread, AAkasha.  It has been very amusing to read.  <smile>

No need to be bitchy; this thread could as easily apply to female subs as to male.  In point of fact, AAkasha's initial post wasn't gender-biased at all, though her examples certainly show her to be a straight Domme with male subs.  Of course, that's what her profile says too, so that's not exactly a shocker there.

Proactive:  It looks like it's time for me to give you a new pedicure, Miss.  Which color would you prefer?
Radioactive:  can i lick ur feet, Mistress? plz let me i want 2 b ur foot slave 4 real!

Edited to say - this wasn't really a reply to MystressDream, but rather to hammerthrower.  <nods>

Well if we want to talk about generalizations we need to look no further than the last post.

Whenever a guy comes on here with a particularly thats borne out of frustration or impatience, they're branded as "bitter and angry" but when a woman does it she's applauded as "strong and patient"

No.  One specific person was described as `bitter and angry': that is not a generalization.  You, on the other hand say that `whenever a guy comes on here...'  That would be what we call a `generalization'.

I do slightly agree though about the "Bitter and Angry" and the "Proud and" Strong. I really don't know where you got patience if it was patience then I doubt the generalized woman would come on here with a problem stemming from frustration and impatience....isn't that what one calls an oxymoron?

One person, in this thread.  How many people in this forum?  I've only been browsing for less than a month and I see several daily.  Especially directed at males.

Such goes this forum.

I'm sure if it made sense, it would be a lot less fun for those of us with intelligence.

I think Hammerthrower is upset because he suddenly caught sight of himself in the mirror, as it were....

Proactive: he sends you a picture of his head.
Radioactive: He sends you a picture of his "other" head.

Proactive: he's willing to spend part of the day with you shopping, and seeing the town.
Radioactive: He shows up only at the play party, and stays only long enough to have you "do him" in public.

Proactive: gives you all his attention while the two of you have a playdate...
Radioactive: Asks for a break so he can watch football.

`Several daily' is hardly the same as `whenever a guy comes on here'.  Many men are able to post to these forums hundreds of times without being called `bitter' or `angry'.

Having been around in this particular forum for a while and being the pain slut that Mistress says that I am, I'm very tempted to just bite my tongue.  Instead, I'll say that it's been my observation that the receptiveness to men posting in this forum ebbs and flows a great deal with the collective mindset of the women who are actively posting here at any given point in time.

In the past, there are those who have come out and said they didn't think male subs should post in this forum or their threads.  Fortunately, those women do not seem to represent the thinking of the majority of Dommes on this board.

My apologies for the assist in the hijaak.  I now return you to your regularly scheduled chaos.

As a submissive, i can certainly see such a difference between "radioactive" and "proactive". Almost an evolution, a mental and emotional progression possibly, well maybe for me as i matured into submission.
i believe the "proactive" kind is where the true submission lies, and where the exhange of Power can begin. To reach this "proactive" stage, i feel one needs to "let go" of pre-conceived beliefs and wants and desires about what a D/s relationship "should" be, about how his/her Dominant "should" interact. By letting go, one embraces his/her true self, and exposes his/her bare emotional canvas for the Dominant to better know him/her.
This "letting go" takes time and efforts, but nothing has been more worth it (to me). Embracing your submissive self to then truly be able to serve your Dominant and please Him/Her, not the other way around.
Thank You for this thread, it was refreshing!
