She could have very easily have picked up earrings somewhere and not noticed what it was.

And yes, dog collars was a high school fashion, and has nothing to do with BDSM. (I lost my fuzzy leopard print one from High School, which makes me sad)

However...I don't know if that symbol actually orginates with the BDSM community. I could have sworn that I saw yin-yang like symbols with three aspects in Korean art. I did a quick search for "Korean Drum", and it pops up a few times in the drums, through this is nothing definite.

No, the symbol is called a "triskellion" and has more Western Europe originations.

That is what I was thinking of. (Second image). It might not be that or from it, but it might also be easily confused for it

-Fast Reply

I was a fifteen-year-old cheerleader the first time I had a scene. It took another year and the internet to discover the term BDSM and the symbol (which I immediately started doodling everywhere). I probably would have bought and worn those earrings had I seen them somewhere.

It's definitely possible.

But you should behave yourself.

I hope that post was a joke. I used to watch those cartoons of Dudley Doright and Snidely Whiplash. Snidley used to tie Nell up and Dudley would come along and rescue her. I wanted to be Nell, all tied up, but not to the train tracks thank you, and certainly not rescued. And I was a lot younger than 25.

It's great in today's world that teens CAN just as easily be expressing their kink side as much as just being fashionable.

One can hope in the next few generations, no one will CARE whether they are expressing their kink side or just being fashionable because it won't be a big deal.

Amen to this.  Put nothing past teenagers, unless you've completely forgotten your own teen years...
