A journey of 1000 miles starts with a single step.  Each "Domme" contacted is a single step in that journey.  The road is not easy and it has many steps.  Just keep "stepping" and eventually you shall reach your Domme.  Just remember to enjoy the journey along the way...

I've been on here for five years now and haven't met one person.  I think it is safe to conclude that CM just isn't the place to meet others.

thank goodness i did not feel this way. i have met two Doms on this site, one of which i married.

slaves should not expect replies from superiors and be thankful when they do get replys imo. A slave should certianly show respect and reply to a message from a no-slave but I do not see any reason for a non-slave to reply to mere slaves if they do not wish to

Excuse me vanilla cone....They are not the e-mailees slave. No power exchange has taken place. Therefore they should expect respect and courtesy. however, the rude person who didnt reply back isnt worth your time. So you should move on in your search for a worthy "superior".

finding truth is hard. people use and abuse with no reason and right when you need them the most they leave you. trust is a friendship built on time. i know it seems like none of use have alot of it but its all you have. those emotions that overwelm you come from your fears. be not afraid to be alone or to be unloved... the universe, the divine, all things love you and nuture you...you are only looking at the smallest thing, your own desires. find a person you can share a moment with instead of looking for a lifetime. find someone who cares how you feel now instead of giving you a promise of tomorrow. above all else love yourself because you cant give someone what you dont have.

Elegant and well said.

If your other three posts are as insightful and eloquently-spoken as this one, you'll be done with this website in no time at all.

khem -> RE: Am I The Only Frustrated Sub? (3/19/2008 8:35:39 PM)

I thought I'd chime in with my experience.  I think I fit the criteria of someone who occasionally will reply to an email, but often does not.  I think, as a non-pro, I can stand to be fairly picky given the ratio of men looking to women looking.  While this may seem pretty cold and potentially weed out fabulous people based on minor details, on the internet it's pretty much how it goes.

In answer to whether or not there are women looking, I'd say yes, of course.  Many, including myself, do occasionally meet people face to face also.

Here's what I look for:
1) a completely filled out profile, including a picture and some description of hobbies not associated with bdsm
2) Common interests, both bdsm and not
3) Age range/distance.  While not always a huge deal, someone out of state is usually ignored because I cannot see having them travel to me 100s of miles to meet for coffee and be sent home.  With regard to age, I do not relate well to men under 30, so I tend to not send much more than a polite "no thanks" knowing this about myself
4) experience level.  I'm not looking for someone "looking to explore their submissive side."  I know we all have to start somewhere, but not with me.  I want someone who is without a doubt a pervert and submissive.  Leather-clad, boot-licking, pain-liking all out pervs.  Not a guy who is "curious"
5) tone of the initial email.  I may be alone in this, but I prefer people who engage me on a friendship level or conversational level before moving onto the long paragraph about how they are the best slave ever, if only someone would give them the chance.  My definition of the "best slave ever" includes someone who can carry on a fun and interesting conversation.

My 2 cents, especially since I think I recognize a few of you as people I might have not answered email from.  Also, given the volume of email, it is sometimes not reasonable to assume that every email gets a reply.  I think most ladies give it their best try and select the best ones from the batch.

TravWill...your hats on crooked. I'm not sure fashion statements endorsed by 12 year old boys is helping.

If your a handsome athletic guy....you probably don't have to. Many of us have to make the effort,

DrummerDom -> RE: Am I The Only Frustrated Sub? (3/24/2008 8:21:20 PM)

Khem- at the suggestion of popular opinion, I actually removed quite a lot of the stuff you're looking for from my profile.

It might have been one of the "How to find a dom/domme" threads, but someone said that Subs should get involved in the searching process too- there's no reason for the light pink/light blue names to stand obediently, staring at the floor with their hands clasped in front of them while the dominants charge from profile to profile looking from room to room.

Actually, now that I've typed all that, it just hit me that since there are things you're looking for in profiles, you must actively be looking AT profiles.  I'm a genius sometimes, I tell you what.  Anyway, I'm not going to delete my original message because maybe someone else will be inspired by it.

...Or maybe they'll just laugh at me.  Either way, I've made someone's day brighter.

Perhaps the common denominator is *female* because the average fem/sub isn't big on replying to polite and sincere mail, either!  Can't even write a one-liner or less....

This won't help you but my own solution was quite simple.  I don't waste my time contacting fem/subs anymore; I confine myself to replying to the ones who contact me.

Domme or sub, all women get pounded with geek mail on these sites and they soon tire of it.  It's not fair to those with honourable intentions, of course, but it is what it is.....

Focus.

So how's the passive agressive thing working for you?  Not all of us refuse to respond..... I am sorry you guys feel this way, but not all of us are that way.  But beyond that not everybody is a match .  It isn't a gender thing.... Men and their profiles and email have their own issues and it wouldn't be right to say that all men send out grunting two word email and expect women to see into your souls and immediately submit or the ever popular... If you want to know something just ask... with no parameters to go by and then if a hard question is asked, they flame a woman for being rude or impertinent... It is a double edged sword and some of us of both genders who do go the distance are sometimes the babies that get thrown out with the bath water so to speak.  I will endeavour to persevere.  Good luck to all with their searches.

Ruby -

[claps]  [whistles]  [cheers]

I'd do yellow clappy things and other bouncing yellow things, and maybe a dancing banana or two, but I can't figure them out.
