Recently Master decided to change my training collar from a leather style w/O ring to a chain and padlock. Now, i never wore my other collar to work, but since getting the new one i wear it to work now. i like this one alot because i never forget to put it on, because it stays on..lol. i was wondering what co-workers would say and to my surprise not much at all. One guy at work knows that Master (to him, my girlfriend) has the key and gets a total kick out of it. NOW, the customers however are asking all sorts of questions. First let me say that i work in a hardware store. i had many guys ask who has the key, a few fumbled through their keys wondering if they had one that would open it and alot actually thought it was good looking jewlery..LMAO. So, for the past couple of days i've been gettin a kick outta what the guys say at work. So, i just wanted to share this with all of you because the last couple of days have been rathr amusing. [8D]

I'm curious as to what type of work you do. Many places, at least where I've worked, would consider that inappropiate in the work place and would have had me either take it off, or go home and not come back unless I was willing to have it taken off.

i work inside a hardware store. it's a very casual place. So far no one has said anything. ::: keeps fingers crossed :::

A friend of mine wears her collar to work. As a matter of fact, her work knows all about her involvement in the lifestyle. They ask all kinds of questions. She tells them about most everything they do and especially where she and her Master go. She is in an administrative job..

What is her collar? If I had shown up to my retail job at a jewlery store in a leather O ring collar. I would have been fired or been told to remove it. Same with when I worked at a Pretzel place. I did, work once, part time in the summer at the Social Services building as a clerk, and I know for a fact they wouldnt have allowed that. However, if it was something like an interlocking chain, or something simple or discreet. Then, yes. As I said tho, these were just based off my jobs I've had. That was why I was curious over hers. :)

I think collars are a personal thing between someone and their Dom/me.

My Domina and I have Collars for Specific situations and She is wise in Her choice of what I wear..

I wouldn't wear that type of collar to work even in a hardware store, Unless of course I needed a Bunch of attention,,,Thankfully, I don't and My Domina has really nice collar's for me that will fit into where I am going to be. Sweet to Hardcore.

i have several different collars as well, but Master would like for me to wear the chain and lock one right now. The chain is not obnoxiously large. it is a thin chain about a 1/4 in thick (not big at all) and the lock is one of those baby locks not wider then a 1/2 inch. A couple of the girls at work thought it was cute because it looks like it could be jewelry. i dont think Master would make me wear anything obnoxious to work. And i certainly am not wearing it for attention.

I have never worn a collar to my job; though I did once wear a heavy leather collar to my Dommes job(s). I spent about 10 days locked in the collar while visiting her in another city. She took me on her rounds of various locations allowing all of her employees to see me in the collar. Few asked about the emaning (me anyway) as it was obvious from my demeanor and attentiveness what the collar signified. I loved it as I am certain She did as well.

Master's "Public" collar always varies, depending on what I wear. Sometimes he'll use a very pretty or decorative scarf if it would match the outfit, or sometimes it is just a ribbon of matching color. He'll tie them in place too. Or, there are other times he wants me to wear the little chain/lock combo (which I think it cute) or one of those chain like ones where you slip the bar through the ring (?) mine has a heart shaped tag with his initials and "tink". It also has a tinkerbell charm on it.

My favorites by far, are the ribbon ones, to me they just have so much more meaning.

Hey it's official - I am an attention seeker!

I have worn my thicker collars to work without anyone batting a look. I am currently self employed, so I can wear whatever I want. But when I was alot younger, I wore my collar to work when I worked in retail (a show company and a large department store) and I wore it when I worked for the civil service in the income support and benefits agencies. I have never had a problem, and I take great pride in wearing a collar, which is as important as my wedding ring and holds no less a meaning.
And nobody gets accused of being an attention seeker when wearing a ring, do they?

I have a special necklace that is my collar - I wear it at all times, no one says anything other than "oh, that's a really pretty necklace" - very few know the meaning behind it, and I intend for it to stay that way. Symbolic collars are just as good as "real" collars, IMO.

As for the chain/padlock thing - that is what we have our boys wear, and we choose the chains according to the boy - the one that rob has is heavier than the one that tj wore, but rob is considerably larger than tj, so it all looked good. The padlocks are the same (keyed alike to make it easier for us LOL), but the chains make them look different. To our knowledge, no one ever said anything about the collars negatively, we do know that a few of the truck drivers that rob ran into were a bit jealous LOL

Ok, I just thought I should have to share this story that happened to me a few years back. I was working as a field technician where the company had both comercial as well as local government contracts. I wont give any details as I definately dont want this to lead back to any one, but I was in a meeting with an administrator and their secratary. The administrator was an older lady, not realy old but more mature than myself, very pleasent additude. The secratary was about the same age as myself, nice but very quiet. We were just sitting down to discuss some changes when the glint of the secratarie's necklace caught my eye and I found myself staring at it for just a moment too long. It was a flattened chrome link chain, nothing that screamed BDSM, very tastefull, but it caught my eye. The secratary caught that knowing look in my eye and instinctively dropped her gaze. The administrator gave the slightest gasp and I looked to her as well rather flatly, she was hiding it well but she was terrified that I knew. Since she was in a public possision and such would be very compromising to her job. Myself I was not too comfortable with the fact that I had just given myself away either. I may have had the upper hand at the moment but in the work I was doing that is not some thing acceptable in the work place. I just kind of gave the slightest smile and a nod of recognition and all three of us breathed a sigh of relief that the moment was over! Then it was back ot the normal, the adminsitrator was in charge, the secratary was the servant, and I was the visiting tech to take care of their troubles.

i like those chain type necklaces with the heart tag on it. They are cute. my chain is about the size of those necklaces. Master likes the lock just because it says Master on it...LMAO!!

I get looks for mine, sometimes, but have never had anything negative said about it. The dress code at my work recently tightened, and I didn't even get a second look when I wear it with slacks and a blouse.

Mine looks much like NoNuts does, albeit with a smaller lock.

I dunno, I think it's all about how it's worn. Mine -looks- like a chain with a lock, but wear it with a blouse or a suit and no one even glances, except to ask if I know where the keys are.

i wear my collar to work, it never comes off actually. I work for the government so i was a bit concerned. *smiles* but other than some looks that say... "interesting taste in jewlry" i am left alone.

You can see in the image that it's not a little dainty thing either. Its actually sort of fun. a kajira holds her head high and is proud of her master's steel. she is a woman who a man saw fit to take and keep as his very own. no ducking in corners or staring at the floor as i scurry from the printer to my cube. ~her master's girl is she~

Some of my trusted co-workers know that i am a slave, it has not impacted my professional life at all. in fact... my boss has more respect for my work, he knows that when i am heading up a rather heafty project ... it will get done. it's literally my ass on the line if it does not.
