"Dark thirty" for 30 minutes after dark.

I "tote" my belongings, I don't carry them.  But, I do "carry" my car down to the "filling station" to get the oil changed.

If somone ask me where something is within seeing distance, I say it's over "yonder"

I call the movies, the "show."

I still call booze the "sauce", and I say a person is "sauced" when they have imbibed a little too much.

I am never about to do anything, I am "fixin' " to do it.  I also don't think or believe something is true, I "reckon" it's true.

Turn signals in a car are "blinkers."

My grandmother called the trunk of a car, the "turtle".  She called easy women, "trollops".  She called dating, "courting."

If I'm repeating myself on a point, I'll say that I know I sound like a broken record.

I don't latch onto old terms so much as use them correctly in an age when not many other people do:

connive
hopefully
ignorance
snob
dreadful
liberal

I'm sure there are more.

I still use the Swastika for it's orginal meaning. The symbol was intended for postitive use. How dare we allow negative forces to keep it.

Oh jeeez luweeeeze.  You mean "dude" is out...???  I did NOT get that memo.  Now I need to go edit my "embarrassing BDSM moments" post... need to take out "fire department dude" and "maintenance dude", can't remember if I said "front desk dude" or not, although I'm positive there were no "cop dudes" involved.  In that embarrassing moment anyway.

Yeah, I still hang onto obsolete terms:

SSC not RACK
BDSM, not WIITWD
and I still use safewords, although I understand that most people think they are nothing more than a "false sense of security"

I'll bet you think submission is a gift, too

In the military, its 'Oh-Dark Thirty', and refers to well before dawn.

I waited 60+ years to use the word "aught" as in 2001 being aught one.
I still use:
pogue=person of low abilities
penguin=catholic nun
5.9=most extreme level of difficulty (now called 5.15D)
boushie=bourgoisie
4:20=smoke em if you got em
moxie=courage
scram=go away
rock&roll=life threatning behaviour
turd floater=heavy rain
twist the wick=go fast

Did you use:
Broad
Dame
That's swell?
She's the bee's knees or
The cat's pajamas
23 skidoo?

BSB:
Most of those terms predate me...but my dad would have thought your new avatar was a swell pic of a hi class dame.
