With gas prices soring to $97.20 per barrell, the effects are showing up at the pump as we speak. 
I am in South Carolina.  It went up five cents from 3pm until 9:00 pm when I got off work.  
I topped off at $2.93 per gallon.  I have a small car.  
How much is it where you are, and how you coping with the high prices?

$3.17 for 87 as of a few hours ago... east coasters need to stop complaining, those on the west coast get it worse

$3.17 here was the cheapest I saw it; Most places were around $3.25.  I'm in Sacramento, CA.

i am in North Carolina, it is 3.07 here, not far behind Cali, about 17 cents behind, (i called my ex mom in law, she lives in the bay area), last January, we were about .80 cents different.
think also the the west coast makes more per hours then we do here. 
i am not just guessing this, i was born and raised in Cali. help the same job there as i do here.

I drive approximately 800 miles a week so I've been keeping a close watch on gas prices...they held steady at $2.59 for ages.   Now it's up to $2.89 - $2.92 for 87 on the Eastern Shore of MD.   Ugh.

$2.95 for 87 today. That's in the burbs of the Twin Cities, MN.

As for how we cope .. We rarely drive our own car anywhere. We fill up the tank, 'maybe' once a month if that. Town is pretty far, so I only go down there every three weeks to take the mutt to the groomer and go grocery shopping. In fact, we drove our car twice this week. I think that might be a record. [;)] Monday, Himself needed a new shirt and today, we had to replace Hobo's collar and leash that he ate while we were in the store buying Himself a new shirt. lol

There is a little convenience store a few blocks up the street, so Himself and I go over there (walking) with the dog when we run out of milk or bread.

We recycle, too. [;)]

If you mean minimum wage, yes, California minimum wage is $7.50 per hour, and goes up to $8 per hour on January 1.

Medium size town 2-3 hours outside San Francisco... Costco has cheapest gas at $3.05, elsewhere $3.20 to $3.35.

i believe our min wage here is $6.15 an hour.  but not for certain.

ouch, You must have an SUV or truck. it cost me about $50 to fill up my mid size SUV here in NC, but since it is wrecked now, i am driving a rented 2007 Honda Accord and it cost me the other day about $40
