I don't see why training is necessary from a so-called "Trainer" or "Mentor". When you go into a D/s relationship, a type of training is initiated by the one you are with now. He tells you his likes, dislikes and all. He shows you what you need to know. He asks you to go for classes if needed. I think the trainer or mentor is an excuse for getting their needs met without the commitment. What others need and want is up to them. Of course, this is my opinion.

I agree. Its not necessary. On the other hand, there are those who want to experience/feel/learn things in the meantime. At that point in my life, I was *not* seeking the type of relationship I ended up in. I wasn't looking for love, and most definately was not seeking an absolute relationship. I would have laughed had someone told me where I would end up.

As far as being a trainer or mentor being an excuse to get their needs met...so what? Obviously anyone who affiliates themself with said trainer or mentor is trying to have their needs met as well. What's bad about that? But then again, like I said, I wasn't looking for a fluffy, romantic type of relationship. <shrugs>

Training as of late has taken on a new aura. It has, in effect, become just another word for play. Training should be that, TRAINING. Positions, speech, attitude, duties, etiquette, et cetera. Unless a sub has specifically contract with me for sexual training, I exclude it.
