I have not been sucked up by a damn thing. I am not going to get sucked into your mindset. Period. You engage in semantics, always pointing to one viewpoint. My personal life is just that personal. I live by my word. why don't you come on down and live for a year or two in my shoes, before you judge me and accuse me of genocide or thievery. Whether your view point is valid or not, is not my business, whether someone agrees with my view point or not , I do not care. I try to look at each viewpoint and find their perspective. Neither does any of my brothers in this group. We hold each and every member accountable to our own set of rules. You make a point of engaging and attacking anyone who has a different view. I never said ,I support the governments view point, nor their actions, nor do I support your actions either. My only legal recourse is to use my vote in a positive way and engage the government in ways that promotes change. I have lost many a comrade, over many years all serving silently, as guardians of the oath, we all took, no where does that oath include or allow us to simply walk away, when we disagree with a position or a order of the current administration of which we swore an oath to protect. It is my fault, your fault and every other American's fault for not holding politicians and big business accountable for their actions or in actions. I have not voted for anyone currently in office. This guy, I agree has the right to do this after he left the service legally. Hell, he can get up butt ass naked and do so and I would not say a word or act against his right, in fact many if not all soldiers, I know of would defend that right with their life. However, he chose to leave with out giving due process of the USCMJ so any rights, that he may have or has, must follow those afforded him under the rule of military law. He could have taken many different actions to ale ave himself of his duties under which he fully signed up for.I bet, he enjoyed the bonuses and the money that was awarded to him for college. He undermines what his brothers in arms are doing right or wrong. You have the right to engage the government anytime you desire, go for it. How ever when you violate, impinge others rights to voice their opinion, you just add to the mistrust. When ever a soldier engages in combat, he is witness to man's worst behavior on his fellow man. This is why we hold our soldiers to higher standard. There will always be atrocities in any conflict we should be engaged in limiting the potential of such actions. Those who commit them should be held accountable and are. A fellow Special Forces buddy of mine, which I have served with and known for over 25 years was an objector, protester during the Vietnam war, his father who was in country at the very time, disapproved of his activities. Up to the day he was drafted, he marched and was part of several popular civil Rights March's. He went and served in country, was wounded, did his time, all the while disagreeing with that administration. When he got back, he did his reserve time and spoke about his service and voice of dissent.I did not agree at the time with some of his views, but I respect the hell out of what he stood for. He has never disgraced himself, nor his path, nor his uniform. Soldiers on active duty right now who have voiced their opinions and have not taken the same course of action he has. As for Congress and the Senate passing illegal legislation, if you have real evidence that will stand the test of real scrutiny, I suggest you find a competent ACLU atty or file a motion with Federal courts, they are in the yellow pages by the way, on the grounds of them violating the Constitution.I will stand beside you and hold them accountable. But be fore warned if you do, it will take about ten years, a lot of money just to get the case to the Supreme Court and even if you do get to be heard before the court, do not expect them to do a damn thing. Know first hand the likelihood of any court in the world, actually doing something for the betterment of the common man. I prefer to spend my time on things I do control, then to sit here and waste precious valuable time trying to justify a position. As for stealing oil, I Have never engaged nor allowed others to engage or know of anyone else engaging in The theft of oil or any other resource. If you have, I suggest you go call the UN, you know those guys up in New York maybe they can enforce the rule of International law. Oh wait, they are the ones guilty of stealing money from the oil for food program, yet again. These bureaucrats are the same ones who spend our hard earned money, by wasting it on worthless expenditures, all-the while stealing from programs meant to feed the very poorest of the poor. They are allowing the powers that be in the rest of the world to engage in this thievery. I would gladly support a bill holding Congress to the standards we are held to, how are you gong to enforce it, when they own the very law enforcement, meant to enforce our laws. Please enlighten me as to how we, can accomplish this. I live my life pretty damn self sustainable and try to persuade others to do so as well. Mother nature has sent us a eviction notice and we just simply have ignored her.Sooner or later she will collect and we shall pay a heavy price. Our creator placed us on this planet, gave us stewardship of it. I think we are flunking earth 101.I am not against using our resources in a productive manner. We are more then capable of evolving in a manner that enhances us as a society, as well as our species and the species under our domain.war noun 1. An open state of armed conflict, especially between nations. Compare cold war. Thesaurus: battle, combat, hostilities, fighting, action. 2. A particular armed conflict. 3. A conflict between states, or between parties within a state. See also civil war. 4. Fighting as a science. 5. Open hostility between people. 6. Any long-continued struggle or campaign. 7. Fierce rivalry or competition in business. verb, intr warred, warring 1. To fight wars. Thesaurus: fight, battle, wage war, make war. 2. To conflict one with another. Idiom: at war Participating in armed conflict If memory serves getting shot at and participating in a armed conflict does constitute war undeclared or not. Again my judgment is based on what I see first hand. I am just a man nothing more nothing less.
