mmmkay. my two pfennings on this...
just as there is a spectrum of orientation from straight to bisexual to gay (and one's placement on that spectrum can change over time and with the right person) i see a spectrum of submission from bottom to sub to slave and that one can move up and down that spectrum depending again, on the circumstances and the people.
i don't see my placement on the scale as a slave as different from that of sub... the difference was a deepening of commitment that was already there. With a different Dominant, i do not think i would have moved that far on the scale and with the wrong one would have gone the other way.
Nor is placement on the scale static. i expect it will change over time. i don't spend a lot of time worrying about it. It is far more fun and satisfying to just be where i am, content and secure.
