ORIGINAL: mnottertail First off, anyone who thinks Bush is the worst president we have ever had is extremely ignorant of history. Warren Harding, Richard Nixon, Jimmy Carter, and Grant were all worse just to name a few. In what way, worse? Carter screwed up the Iran hostage crisis and also put forth an economic policy that created a bigger housing crisis than we are going through right now. Interest rates were in the mid-teens. Nixon was part of the Watergate conspiracy and coverup. Harding was elected and basically appointed criminals to high positions and his administration was filled with corruption. Read up on the "Ohio Gang" and the "Teapot Dome" scandal. There numerous other minor scandals as well. Grant was a good civil war general but historians seem to agree he may be the worst president in US history. Grant was believed to even have a hand in several bank robberies. Money seemed to go missing. People on Wall Street that were manipulating the market. And the whole presidency was rocked with scandal after scandal. You have no idea what you`re talking about. Considering you weren`t born yet,all you have is google and some history books. You have no idea what you`re talking about. Carter didn`t screw up anything. The hostages came out alive and well. You`re all wet about the housing crisis thing and according to republicans/neo-cons,the president has nothing to do with interest rates,or inflation rates, etc. If we had listened to this most insightful of men,we would be well on the way towards energy independence and cleaner sources of energy. We wouldn`t have to fight for oil, like we are now.Carter stands head and shoulder above Ragen and the Bushes. And he was honest. Ragen removing the solar panels from the white house, was as much a symbolic gesture(regarding energy policy)as it was anything else .
