I'm down with the "It needed changing, but not to this!"

Hell, make it 18pt font in PURPLE...and BOLD and a pretty font too.   haha.
Just make it legible and pop out a bit so it doesnt blend into the background ads and such.

another small gripe. Threre are those who get tons of mail on the site, some are polite others....not so much.

I however only get a message every couple of weeks unless I'm in the middle of a discussion from someoen. Seeing "NEW MESSAGES" in big bold red letters usualy got an a noticeable enthusiastic response from me (what can I say? I like having my ego stroked)

But now it's smaller, and dark red, heck I didn't even notice at first...grr

Still smaller here.  I think your eyes got smaller too so the text just seemed bigger.

It is confusing at first. Myspace changed their font style also.

It was perfectly fine the way it was before. People go tinkering with stuff to improve or make it better, and it's rarely ever an honest improovement.

Too small and dull.  Surely there were other improvements that could have rated a higher priority.

Too small and too difficult to delinate between -- it's hard to click on "new messages".  i too will miss the bright red sign that someone emailed me.

Is it my imagination or has the mail been overhauled as well?

(i admit it hate change.)

I want to cast three votes. (small, dull and eventually settled for) It needed changing, but not to this!
Please don't get me started on the colour scheme too... It just gets more and more plain. Soon the buttons will blend in with the white background.

Oh hehe, I thought it was something on my end.   It doesn't bother me.  My Master is always changing monitor settings on me, so I'm used to hange.

I now need glasses for reading and I could almost get  away with not wearing them  with  the old lay-out.. So  I did not feel so old!!!  lol, lol .....I have received alot of notes responding to my journal entry on this matter,,,All tend to agree with me..... Now you are making me act my age I absolutely need them to read all on here now..Other then that  2 thumbs up from me.....Truly,,, cute4950,,aka as Lydia
