Hi- I'm answering without reading the rest of the responses, so advance apologies if I repeat what's already been said.

In my opinion , 24/7 refers to a RELATIONSHIP...not a personality type. Two people just meeting online for the first time are not in a relationship, so no dom/me has the right to expect instant submission. Both dom/me and sub have the right to expect mutual respect and good manners.

On the other hand, no one can dictate the behavior of anyone you are meeting for the first time. So...if you don't like what this dom/me is doing, politely extricate yourself from the conversation and move on.

I have determined that the majority of the "I am Dom, hear me roar" types are either very new to the lifestyle and think this is how all dominants are supposed to behave; or they're simply socially inept. A polite, but firm, statement to the effect that they have erroneously assumed authority you have not granted to them *usually* knocks them off that high horse.

I also firmly believe that just because someone's been "doing this" for X number of years "24/7", it doesn't mean they've been doing it RIGHT all that time.
