i would really love to see perhaps a forum or section devoted to discussion of fetishes.
my arguement for it is as follows:

1. If there was a "blue monkey" discussion going on and you despise all mention of blue monkeys you could easily steer clear or vice versa. Insert any fetish you can think of in the quotes.
2. Since D/s is so inherently sexual, isn't it natural to discuss sexual fetishes and seperate them in some fashion?
3. Collarme may be more educational for the addition of it.
4. There is more to a fetish than the mere 'oddity' of it and titillation factor. Much much more.
5. A fetish crosses the limits of M/s.

Please tell me what you think!

You'd have to prove this supporting statement. For many people Ds isn't sexual at all, including me. For me, Ms is about an authority transfer relationship.

However, I think Ds is included in the "alternative lifestyles" umbrella and fetishes are often closely associated with Ds so bringing up fetishes would be reasonable to me.

I'd disagree with #4. Fetishes are literally about titillation- they are objects/people/situations that someone NEEDS in order to perform or be fulfilled sexually. Nothing more or less.

A lot of people like to use fetish in a much less serious light, as a word for "something that really gets me turned on" but that's not an actual fetish. While I find the nature of fetishism interesting, it's a pretty run of the mill associative dynamic.

How so? Fetishes really have nothing to do with Ms or anything really, they are just fetishes. A person can have a fetish and be whatever orientation in bdsm or Ms or any WIITWD thing, or be completely vanilla and just happen to have a specific fetish.

Again I certainly think bringing up fetish discussions here make sense, and if there's enough interest then a forum would make sense as well. I just think your premises are lacking to support the conclusion you want to make.

There are many people who are kinky that give not a rat's ass about D/s.

And since this is not called "Domination and submission.com",I see no reason a forum could not be set up to talk about it.

You don't see why such a forum couldn't be set up? Are you going to donate or pay for the work for it? CollarMe is a FREE service. Notice the lack of paying or ads? They exist via donations. Setting up a forum is work and work costs money.

By the way, this wasn't the proper forum for this post to begin with; as there is a forum called "Feature Suggestions for CollarMe.com"

And by the way, Collarme's tag line is "The Largest BDSM Community on the Planet" It is a D/s site, as well as a S/m site. While fetishes and kink are often under the umbrella of BDSM, they also exist outside of it. This is not really a fetish site other than for those who identify with BDSM.

So many people out there are interested in various fetishes, but have no interest in BDSM. I think, if this forum were to exist, it would have to be in a fairly strict BDSM context to fit the website.

I agree with the comments made so far by everyone before me. Good job!

I want to also point out that there is a forum site called The Fetish Forums. It is currently undergoing revisions but it used to have a very thorough listing of fetishes, with separate forums for each. It unfortunately gets little traffic.

Why not support that site rather than expecting this site to take on additional duties?

there are different mixes for different pepole, some like D/s and no BDSM, some have a kink or two, others like this and others like that. Like the saying go. Some like the mother and some like the daugther.
