Health officials claim high vaccination rates are required to disrupt the spread of a disease and eliminate its occurrence. State laws require children to be vaccinated before they can enter public school -- unless a parent signs a waiver indicating opposition to the shots. While some states offer a philosophical or religious exemption, all provide a medical exemption -- if contraindications exist. But parents should not have to sign a waiver objecting to mandatory vaccines. Instead, those who elect to have their children vaccinated should be obligated to read the full range of possible adverse reactions. Then, parents who still elect to have their children vaccinated should be required to sign a form indicating that they understand all the risks involved. Mandating vaccines is also an unscrupulous means of extorting money from trusting parents. Imagine the exorbitant profits of any company that produces a product everyone is required by law to buy -- even against their will. Moreover, the extreme wealth acquired through this medical racket is not hoarded by the drug makers alone; common doctors share in the booty. According to the late Dr. Robert Mendelsohn, world-renowned pediatrician, vaccines are the "bread and butter" of pediatric practice.(264) Others speculate that the damage caused by the shots may be responsible for new ailments and rare diseases(265-267) -- enough to keep medical specialists affluent and busy for years to come.

I have to wonder how many of the people debating this topic have ACTUALLY RESEARCHED both sides of the immunization argument or are responding based upon reading an article or two or even worse....responding without having actually made any attempt to learn the pros and cons at all.


Of course I researched it. This was the subject of two of my college research papers. First one of my grandmother's home nurses told me vaccines caused autism and other bizarre behavior in children. Then my grandmother read something that said the same thing. When I started researching, I learned that vaccines contained a mercury componant. Sure I researched both sides. I guess I have a hard time believing how mercury is considered poisonous to adults, but not poisonous when injected into babies whose brains aren't even fully developed yet.

I have too, that is why I asked the question. When my first child was born I was very young and believed that you were supposed to listen to your doctor, he knows best, and follow his advice. How naive I was! I allowed my son to be immunized and he had some horrible reactions to those shots...thankfully, nothing permanent.

There were 8 years in between my children and somewhere along the line I had heard bits and pieces about concerns with the vaccines. So when I became pregnant for my second I knew that vaccinations were going to be an issue and something that I needed to research. I am not talking about an article or two...or a doctor or two's opinion. I spent months finding out every piece of information I could and making an informed decision. I chose not to immunize my second child until I absolutely had to (school age) and felt more comfortable about it as everything that I read regarding the most questionable vaccine (at that time DPT) said that the risks significantly decreased if given at an age older than 2. I still opted for a DT vaccine instead of the DPT. My decision met strong opposition from the medical community....especially during a time when something as simple as breastfeeding was considered to be outside the norm in parenting choices.

Things have only become more complicated in the last 20 years since I had to make that decision...more vaccines have been added to the regimen and new information has presented itself. While it is not something that I have kept following closely as I have not had a need to make such a decision again...you can bet that before I made the decision to immunize another child I would find out every pro and con before I made that decision.

I can not imagine that anyone who has spent actual time researching this issue would not, at the very least, have serious reservations regarding the safety of this practice. I think that when it comes to doctors and following their orders though, most people don't practice free thinking and just get in line with all of the other sheeple.

I did not know any better when my son was very small, but I found out about the heavy metals (such as mercury) used to suspend the dying or dead virus, and it just seemed as though there was a disconnect to trust the pharmas that make them, especially since they have not being held responsible or accountable in the past. I believe parents when they say their kids were fine until they had a vaccine and now they have autism... which makes me wonder if ADD and ADHD are also related to vaccines

If we decide to have more kids (which it is something that has been tossed out there) I will opt out unless they are proven safe to me... also I do not see a reason to get vaccines for nonfatal diseases.. it just makes no sense to me.

What makes even less sense is when they tell you that by not immunizing your child he/she is putting other kids at risk.  i would think it was the opposite, if all the others are immunized and your child isn't - who is at risk if there is an outbreak?  This tells me they don't know what the hell they are talking about.  Signing a waiver i could agree to but if i were to have another child i would not immunize them when they were inants.  And i would sek out a homeopath again.

I don't know if the vaccines cause autism or if it is simply coincidence..my child was vaccinated and is on the autism spectrum. He was probably born this way, looking back there were some signs our pediatrician glossed over and we didn't get concerned about but now they make me wonder. No speech delays in fact he has been a "little professor" since about 9 months old with an ever increasing vocabulary..his first word was "contrail" as he looked up at an airplane..he was always fascinated with small things/items/details even as a very young toddler, hated certain noises, fabrics, bright lights, extreme sensitivity to all of them from a very early age, had a host of quirky stimming type behavors...he had most of the symptoms of being on the spectrum but because of his intelligence and incredible vocabulary nobody picked up on it until he was 7 and the socal/emotional delays became very obvious.

Didn't read most of it, didn't get any shots beyond one or two as a baby, and eat dirt.

I ate a piece of fruit off of a commercial kitchen the other day.  Pretty sure that's worth a few vaccines.

my child who had the eye infection was not vaccinated till she was 5. She was given belladonna (drops under the tongue if i remember correctly) for her eye infection, not mercurius vivus.

It's just like flu shots, my mom gets flu shots faithfully every year, and every year she gets sick, she's sick about 3 or four times a month  with some nasty little bug. I never get a flu shot and I am never sick unless someone who's directly infected, like say a bf, or someone coming to a play party gives it to me.

If her dr says she should do something she runs out and does it no question.
