batty24546 -> RE: Major Pet Peeve (8/10/2005 10:12:23 AM)

There is alot of irony in this post, and not just flaming the flamers either.

Although i can understand the point. I my mind it is unpolite to critize people for the questions or opinions. For some the only comment i have is " Didn't your mother teach you any mannors?" - but then again, they have just as much right to their opinions as any one eles dose. Its more of a matter of where, and when it is suitable.

I can see diffrences in views being a good grounds for debate, but I can't understand why people find a need to be immiture and cause problems. If it wasn' for that, we wouldn't be doing the same thing in this post right now.

I have to admit, I have been know on other sites for posting my strong opions (flaming). Not in and any means trying to hurt someone, It was just a topic i felt very strongly about, or a comment someone had made which in my eyes, seemed very uncalled for.

So you can rant, and comment on the topic all you want, and in some cases it sould be talked about -because lots of nobies don't understand what the term means...but in the process your only continuing to stir the pot up, and make room for more flame wars.

Personaly i think it is one of thoes loss/loss situations.

Batty ~most days i am exactly that~

onceburned, i guess you are right, thanks for helping me out.

my cat Maude likes to eat catuses (Or what are they called, the little pointy plants.) and she bark at birds. She make this barky sound when upset she can not go through the window and kill the bridies, she learned that from my late dog Mario, i hope he is happy where he is now.

junecleaver -> RE: Major Pet Peeve (8/10/2005 10:13:40 AM)

Aw. I love cats. How cute.

As I've been told before, 'You're hotter when your mouth is closed.' Your post is kind of pointless. I am judgmental, I'm just not mean. But your post isn't going to make anyone else that much nicer to you.

Yes, people have their kinks and I have my judgment of their kinks. Some people live in a way that I think is completely unhealthy, but in the end that's their choice. I cannot make their choice for them, but I am allowed to have an opinion about it.

There's a difference I guess. but now I'm just rambling.

Veav -> RE: Major Pet Peeve (8/10/2005 10:17:56 AM)

If I may? I think what you're saying is, "you have the right to do what you want, and I have the right to voice my opinion about it".

-whoops, forgot to include kawaii neko behavior. Mickey's brother, Silky, can climb ladders.

nella -> RE: Major Pet Peeve (8/10/2005 10:19:02 AM)

Pointless or not, it is a valid post, how many discussions on this board degrate into arguments, i might be naive, but i still belive in being kind to others and common politness.

The one on my left is thats my ex girlfriend, that's why she let me keep her in my photo. The other I barely know its just her friend but if she is, I hope to find out someday. No compliments for me tho, thats cool, haha just kidding.

Wow...and they both gave you permission to post their pictures on a bdsm website? Even the one you barely know? Amazing!

As for your pet peeve, it does get heated around here sometimes, but often something good will come out of those heated debates and we sometimes end up understanding a bit more about a differing viewpoint regardless of whether or not we agree with it. If heated debate and/or flames bother you, internet bulletin boards and email loops probably aren't the place for you. Every single one I've ever been a member of has the same cycle...whether it be collecting miniature shoes, growing elephant ears (wow, you should see the arguments there among those who hate them and have them taking over their yard and the people who love them but can't get them to grow!), or bdsm. Its just the nature of the beast.

best regards,
fate

IMHO, I'd say dissenting opinions make these forums much more interesting. What gets... unnecessary, is when people start personally attacking others for their post. I'd say that as long as the debates don't degrade into 3rd grade name-calling matches, they make these boards much more interesting.

i agree whit this, but often they do degrade into name calling matches.

I'm brand new in this message system, but I've been using Usenet almost from its founding (ASB anyone?).

One of the blessings of online talk is it's possible to completely ignore the idiots. I wouldn't be bothering with this system if it weren't for that lovely red hand with "block" after it.

BalletBob -> RE: Major Pet Peeve (8/10/2005 12:43:14 PM)

Yes, I agree that some people are pushy, and cut others up...and that the kitties are cute (like mu Fluffy), and the girl is cute too...maybe even cuter dressed as a Balleria in Bondage? But then again, that is what so great about this group, we are all adults with our own kinks and opinions...we just don't have to be shoving them down others throats......unless its a nice Ball Gag.

Enough said, Still Kinky after all these years, BalletBob

Doubtful but you have to do something to make yourself look better. At least until they find out and kill you for trashing their reputations.

Anyway, pet peeves. Who cares? We are all different and the mere fact most of us can get alone only empowers us more.

For me it is a liar. As many here know who are regulars.

subcheryl -> RE: Major Pet Peeve (8/10/2005 3:21:00 PM)

I think sometimes it is two people who are saying the same thing, but for some reason, they are not hearing each other. They are both more or less on the same path, but yet because of the trees can not see the others veiw till it gets weeded through and some of the trees hacked down that they can come to an understanding, that is what each meant with a different twist to it. Make sense? hope so hate to try and explain it LOL.

subcheryl -> RE: Major Pet Peeve (8/10/2005 3:24:52 PM)

junecleaver, my last replay was not in reference to you, just to let you know. Guess am having trouble figuring this out. I get the concept if you want to post a reply to someone else's reply, you click on the reply or quote button on top right corner of their post. but I have used the lower left "post reply and fast reply" buttons with the same result still looks as if I am replying to the last person on the list. Help

Shayna -> RE: Major Pet Peeve (8/10/2005 4:16:35 PM)

Opinionated people posting on internet message boards is pretty darn common. That's the fun!

My take is that you posted that pic because you think it makes you look pretty darn cool having 2 beautiful women next to you. I have a very basic computer and yet it has the ability to crop a photo. The problem is that many women will be turned off by the 2 chicks in the pic, or feel intimidated. So I think it was a bad move. But hey good luck!!

ProScatman -> RE: Major Pet Peeve (8/11/2005 11:50:37 PM)

Don't be too quick to put all the apples in one barrel! This site is very educational; if you are open--minded and have the desire to learn what other ppl are into, not be too quick to judge others, and are willing to be tolerant to many kinds of personalities.

Hey, I like the tat!

ProScatman -> RE: Major Pet Peeve (8/12/2005 12:16:10 AM)

Just go to the post you want to post an opinion on. Like I went to the first post (the original poster) to reply directly about his post. Hope that helps, Mike

Makes sense to me. Why post if you don't have an opinion? How boring would the discussions be? M
