Is there a good website with details on different kinds of bondage ties? Master and I are learning how to do this. We have a good book but it only has so much, and I know there's alot more variety in positions and stuff out there. Any good references would be awesome. Thanks in advance.

Oh, and if you find, like me, that rope makes you go "OMG, why haven't I fantasized about this before? I want more - lots and lots more", then you might like the colthing section of that site. I have added the "Rope Slut" T-shirt to my Christmas wish list. Seriously, I get happy just watching Him tie me up. Yes, it takes longer than cuffs do, but I find the time and attention required to do some of those ties to be very soothing. Kind of a bonding thing, you could say.

Two Yahoo groups I am a member of, AdultRopeArt and DivaMidori, offer some really great information as well.

The first focuses almost exclusively on rope. It's mostly way over my head, like the best way to finish hemp and knot A vs. knot B when comparing speed of tying. I joined because my Dom loves tying, it's one of His favorite things to do to me. So I wanted to learn a little more about it, and the just reading others posts over the last few months has been very educational.

The second is a broader sexuality focused group run by Midori. She's a really well known sex educator - flys all over the world doing classes and demos. They also have some helpful things about rope, but do discuss other topics.

The following two websites are ones that I also particularly like. The Two Knotty Boys have a great book, and their site lists locations of classes they teach. Ropecast is Graydancer's site - another that travels doing rope demos, and is always entertaining.

Thank you for the reply. I've only glanced at the websites so far and liked them alot when I have more time will take a better look at them. Even look into those yahoo grps.

And yes I really like the rope bondage so far. The time he takes to do it is intimate and I know what you mean by a bonding connection that comes with it. I've always fantasized about it, but never had anyone that was willing to take the time to learn or take the time to do it with me. Till now that is. =)

Kind of surprised no one else has replied though.

Are there no other references to rope play? Not sure how to look it up w/out getting porn sites. Surely there's some other ones out there.

Try doing searches for the words shibari and/or kinbaku (or kinbaku-bi). They are Japanese words meaning to tie/to bind/beautiful bondage, etc. Or at least that's what the websites tell me - I don't speak the language, lol!

I think you will find both of those Yahoo groups loaded with information on rope. Midori even has a new book out that you might enjoy. Even though I only lurk on those groups, I have to say that they are rather inspiring. The people are polite, helpful and very friedly. Topics range from safety (watch your wrists! and check circulation often) to speed knots to storing rope. Oh, and they offer advice on how to avoid becoming "Kitten Dom" - aka looking like you're doing an impression of a large kitten playing with a big ball of rope yarn. Shorter lengths of rope and proper coils help, or so they say. I am just glad that I am the recipient, not the one doing the tying. My eyes would cross.

I might be able to give a bit better direction if I knew what you were looking to do. Are you tying for sex, for fantastic pictures, for long term bondage, for discomfort, or all of the above?

Oh, and something very, very, very important. Ultra important. Tell your Dom that you have to go pee BEFORE He spends two hours tying you up in one of those super intracite ties. Seriously. While this has not happened to me, it was advice that was shared by a good friend and I have taken it to heart. Cause it takes a while to UN-tie you, too, lol.

Other than what's been previously stated by Statepalace, take a look at rainbowrope.com, I believe they have some tutorials or at the very least a few links to other tutorials on rope bondage. Also take a look at Hogtied and doing a search for Insex will lead you to a link for Hardtied I believe. Yes they are bondage porn sites, but you are able to get ideas for different positions. They have an extensive archive and you do not need to be a member to view.

I love Hogtied, that's one of my favorite sites.

As for what I'm looking for, pretty much all the above. Just looking for as many references as I can that has lots of details on how the knots and such are done. I will keep looking though and use the advice that you have mentioned (both of you) I came up with a few other links with the search on here, will do a search with the words that you mentioned Statepalace.

And yea, I do let Master know that I gotta go pee before he spends the time tying me up. hehe. He still learning it takes a little bit of time to get it just right sometimes.

At our website (http://www.touwtjes.tk) under "links" you can find a busload of rope bondage links, including many pointing to paid and unpaid tutorial sites. Also, there's our own tutorial, but that one is specifically aimed at bigger and/or less flexible people, so it might or might not be usefull to you. As others recommended, AdultRopeArt is a great yahoogroup. You also might want to join ShibariNetwork at Yahoo.

But if you really want to learn how to do bondage, the best way is to seek out a good rope bondage workshop near you to learn a steady base in bondage safety. Rope bondage is a dangerous activity, and learning from online sources has its limitations.
