Interesting topic.... I don't think my master could keep up or keep his interest in fidgetty things like what toiletries are used.

If he says he especially likes something, or dislikes something, I naturally do it again or stop using it without the need for a more formal command from him on the item. But then again we are quite similar in our tastes and attitudes so perhaps in our relationship the need for this never came up. The one thing was because I never used to shave my legs in the wintertime (my body hair is naturally so pale that it's near invisible, and shaving made my already dry skin worse), but after a year and a half of living together he apparently suddenly noticed it for the first time and told me that he wants it shaved all the time! I had a good laugh about that with him and now keep it shaved for him.

Other than that he tends to give me my way with toiletries because I know what does work and doesn't work for my body, and why, and it's too boring for him to keep track of the ins and outs of brands of hair conditioner and such other trifles.

I am very sensitive to scents, so have always used unscented toiletries and NO perfume. Master LOVES perfume. So, we found a scent that smelled good on me and that doesn't cause me to sneeze or my throat to close up and I must wear it whenever we are together (but He makes an exception for when I have a gig- I cannot take a chance with my voice. His favorite line for this is "I am a Master, not a monster.").

He has also had me grow my hair out. When my hairdresser suggested I color it (the gray was showing), I excused myself and called Him for permission before I would let her dye it.

I have also mentioned on the boards how He has changed my daily make-up use- from light and natural to heavily made up eyes and dark lips. He likes a dramatic look.

Other than the usual things- legs must be freshly shaved kind of thing- He does not concern Himself with brands or minutia. He is much more concerned with the overall presentation of His property.

I gave no problem changing things that annoy Him or keeping things that He prefers.  I don't have a problem adopting habits He feels are beneficial.

The only thing I worry about (although in O/our case it isn't an issue) is that someday I may have a Dom who will tell me to go off of my Anti-depressants.  I know there are people out there that view them as unhealthy.  But honestly, they're a part of the reason I'm still alive today.

my Daddy doesn't say alot about any of this stuff with the exception of body butters/body lotions. i know he doesn't care for them so i don't use them often...he did get me some for Xmas last year and so i will use that sometimes, because as he said, "I bought it for you, so I want you to have it."

He has also made remarks (early on) about self tanner, so i don't use that very often anymore at all.

The only other thing he says anything about is my hair length/cut and the red that i have under my hair. He allows me to have it (red), but he makes it clear that he doesn't really like it and would prefer my hair all blonde. For this reason i rarely touch up the red in my hair...but i'd have to cut it all out to make it go away and that isn't an option. He also makes it clear that he prefers my hair long, doesn't really want me getting any layers and that he doesn't like bangs....So my hair is kept long with only the layers i have had forever and my bangs haven't been touched for a year this weekend.

So, does your dominant involve himself in your personal care routines or specify products?

As far as personal care, one of His requirements is that I'm shaved.  The only other thing I can think of is the enema before ass play.  He has never told me my hair needs to be a certain length, all though it would be a shame to cut it off... what would He grab??   I know if He were to express displeasure about anything I used, i.e. shampoo, perfume ect.... I would stop using it.

Just for fun, are there things that you must use or are not allowed to use...and is there/what is the mental impact of it for you? An example of my own would be that in a former relationship I was not allowed the use of toilet paper when I urinated (at home). He hated those little pieces of toilet paper that sometimes stick to you. I had to rinse off and pat dry each time. I couldn't help but think of him whenever I did so.

A girlfriend of mine just mentioned that she is not allowed to use any form of baby powder or talc. She went on to say that her dominant has given her a list of every brand of personal care product that she is allowed to use....from toilet paper to soaps and shampoos to tampons (and she is never allowed to use pads). She also has to shower and shave in a specific order.

So, does your dominant involve himself in your personal care routines or specify products?

Oh, i HATE those fuzzies. I have found a wonderful product you may want to check out.  They make flushable moist towlettes which are found near the toilet paper in your grocery stores.  I prefer the Cottonelle brand, but any of them work fine. They leave you clean and fuzz-free.

Master does not allow me to wear lotions with glitter as the glitter does transfer to other people.  He dislikes most perfumes, but has found one he likes and allows me to use (Miracle by Lancome).  He does not allow me to wear baggy t-shirts, which I used to love for running around the house in.  He dislikes heavy makeup, so I am generally only allowed base and lip gloss for every-day wear, and maybe mascara and a light lip color for evening out.  There are certain nail polish colors he disallows (no black, blue, green, or otherwise non-traditional colors).  He does not allow certain feminine hygiene products (like FDS and panty liners).

Respectfully,

Amy

if you go to a good stylist, you CAN have the red stripped out of your hair, and have it colored all blonde.  it is possible, you CAN do it without too much damage to your hair.

its just a pain in the arse to do it yourself at home.  (i did this for a good friend, she went burgandy which REALLY didnt work with her skin tone....and then a day later we colored it blonde again.  it worked without frying her hair to bits.)

The girl only wears tampons? Overnight? That's going to be interesting when she hits peri-menopause.

Oh yes....I've just been diagnosed with a 2cm fibroid which is playing havoc during my period with bouts of very heavy bleeding.  A tampon just doesn't cut it I need an overnight pad as backup   If Sir were to insist on just tampons then it would be extremely messy!!

Several people have mentioned this but all women are different. I've only used tampons all of my life, even overnight, and I have never once had an issue with it. And yep...I'm old....

Personally, I dont bother worrying about the boys personal products.  I have had Fox change his razor so that he stops chopping himself to bits when he is shaving more sensitive areas, since he stays nearly completely hairless for me (eyebrows and the hair on his head is IT... I love it) but his razor he was using on his face wasnt doing justice on teh rest of him. I also have him using a femenine shaving cream since it is more pleasant smelling than full body Edge gel. For the most part, now, he just uses my shower stuff, and with the exception of his own deoderant (which he might eventualy start using a female version of as well) he doesnt even pack his own things when he comes here.

Angel uses what he pleases, since he has so many allergies, I would never even begin ot be able to find stuff he likes. I even have to modify what *I* wear around him if we want to be able to spend time together without sneezing fits.

Nah, too micro-managing for him. If I put on a perfume that he didn't like he would tell me so. If it was inexpensive I would pitch it, if it was a nice bottle and I personally liked the scent I would just wear it for girl's night out or when visiting family. Wouldn't buy it again when it ran out though.

Since we live together and don't see a need for separate bath and hair products we find things that we both like the smell of. As for periods, he's never shown an interest in controlling my pads or tampons. We would probably view it as impractical anyway as mine run the gamut so I tend to need all types of feminine products at some point or another during the year.

Edited to add: He lets me do what I like with my hair as well. I have a nice hairdresser who he trusts to not let me leave the shop looking any less than gorgeous, no matter what I want to do with my locks.

I can't even begin to wrap my brain around the fact that he dictates the brand of tampons she uses, and that she is never allowed to use pads. God forbid the girl might need BOTH sometimes.

Methinks someone has wayyyy too much time on his hands.

Some people like to micromanage, it is a part of their kink. There are ways, too, to avoid the necessity of both; however, a Dom who gets into menstrual control has to be extremely careful because thre is the potential for serious harm to the sub.

I agree.  Peri-menopause for me was nothing... almost literally... and then, nothing.

In response to the op, FirmhandKY has never shown an interest in controlling anything I use.  If there is something I use that he expresses a particular like for, I take that as a clue that he wants me to continue to use it, but otherwise he seems to appreciate my taste as it is.

Me too, i cannot stand that yucky slimy feel you get from a pad. Never an issue for me either.

Somebody mentioned hair. I used to keep my pubes very short, Scooter prefers curls below, so now i have normal pubic hair. And he wants my hair long so now i only get it trimmed, not cut.

Simply make that a hard limit and a deal breaker, and make it known in the very very beginning of speaking, and if he won't accept it, then he's not the dom for you.

Ever since I have been old enough to need a gynocologist, she's always told me never to douch and never to use fagrant sprays and powders  on my vaginal area, so I don't think you're missing much there. It's probably best not to.

My partner would be simply out of luck lol. Cause my pubic hair doesn't grow thick and bushy any more, It used to when I was a young teen then I shaved once or twice and oddly enough it don't come back thick nor curly.

So applying tacks to a maxipad would be considered by some to be micro-management?
